Make sure that Vertical Sync is turned on in the game options. For some reason, having V-Sync turned off can interfere with how some objects in this game interact. The most common symptom seems to be problems controlling the RC car, but it can cause other problems.

If V-Sync won't turn on, or you're still having problems, something may be overriding the V-Sync setting in the game. For example, the AMD Radeon drivers can be set to disable V-Sync in everything, and they have an Enhanced Sync option that replaces the regular V-Sync, and using that can cause problems in this game. If you're not sure if V-Sync is on, you can have Steam or something else display your frame rate, and see if it matches the rate that's shown in the game options.

This was brilliant. The RC car worked great once I turned vsync on.

how do i turn on vsync

There's a setting for it in the game options. But, as I mentioned above, some things can override the game. If you turn V-Sync on and are still having problems, have something display the frame rate. If it's higher than the rate set in the game, something is overriding the game setting.

If you've checked the frame rate and confirmed that V-Sync is actually on, I'm not sure what else to suggest. You could have Steam verify the game files (standard suggestion when someone has a problem with a Steam game).

vertical sync does not turn on.. the game asks if i want to apply changes but gives no y/n options. it's a 20 seconds countdown and then its turned back off. i tried pressing controls its the same.

Check your video card drivers to see if they're overriding the game setting. For example, the AMD drivers can disable V-Sync for everything; or they have an "Enhanced Sync" option that replaces the regular V-Sync, and using that can cause problems in this game.
