So, I don't know if this is a bug or an update broke the game or my laptop just completely fails to run the game for some reason, but I can't do anything?

I created my character, went through the opening cut scene, then talked to the mayor, and then... Nothing. My character is just standing there, incapable of moving, unable to open the map, but able to talk to the Mayor.

Is this a known issue or is something wrong with my game or laptop, or?? I really want to play, the game's fun from what I've played on my friend's switch, but what's the point of having bought the game on PC if it refuses to work?
