When you want to make a video game, you need an engine. Engines cost millions of dollars. Some engines can do things better than others, an engine that Rimworld runs on is completely different and much cheaper than the Battlefield 3 engine. When they made Assetto Corsa, they chose this engine and this is what the engine is capable of.

Download and install Content Manager, as well as SOL. I dont think you will be disappointed with the results.

PS1 graphics is way different (worse)

You need to mod it in order to make it look good. It is worthy, with mods looks fantastic

With the lower level of graphics comes the ability to run well on much older PCs. I wouldn't personally say the graphics with mods ever rise to the level of great (personal opinion - others are entitled to theirs). However, I would say that it can bring them up to the level where they aren't a distraction.

At a minimum you want Content Manager, Sol/Pure, and mods that add 3D trees. For me, the trees were hugely distracting, but the above takes care of that.

Yes, ACE looks MUCH MUCH better. It also requires a much much beefier PC to do so.

As it stands, I find I can up the graphics to where I enjoy the game and find it fun.

I went down that road, set up things, Sol /Puredownloaded a whole wack of tracks ... which have N64 textures. OP is right, this game is dated.

yes, it is somewhat ugly.
why - i think they got enough money and moved on before they completed the game.
at least people say, that the sim part is(was) among the best, so not much to worry about ugly.

No, they absolutely did not. They said that after it came out of Early Access they would continue to support and update it for 5 years and they did exactly that.

The game is complete.

i got the product at its final stage, so my judgment is fairer than yours. and unlike you, i have proper unorthodox experience with it and other similar products, for comparison.

what do you have, to backup your contra? just the maker's claim?

I don't understand how your judgement can be fairer if you bought it in its final stage rather than when it was first released into EA on Steam, following the development through EA, following Stefanos development streams and the 5 years of updates and support that followed EA, which they said they were going to do. That is proof enough the developers did what they said they were going to do and that the game is considered complete at the last update.

If you want to dismiss evidence contrary to your point about them getting enough money and moving on before completion, then you do that but anyone who has been playing AC since it was released in EA and followed the development will disagree with you.

my opinion is unchanged since i posted my review back in 2021. and since then, i have quite more experience with the game. yes, there is evidence, for whomever wants to see it and does not want to deny it.

I don't think so. grapichs are beautiful, like RDR2. I'm playing without RTX and any shaders. I have GTX 1650 and I got 65-70 FPS in ultra settings. IT IS BEAUTIFUL BRO!!!
