Get a few levels more and try again. I think i beat it at lvl 14. Also buy life rings for everyone, they give big hp buffs.

I suppose I have to grind and kill more but I didn't expect that there was level gating.

The Black Heart boss fight is the game's filter so to speak. She's there to ensure that people too stupid, lazy, stubborn, etc. aren't able to play the game any further. Grind a bit and make sure you've got the best equipment you can have at that point, you'll be fine.

Didn't look or feel like a filter similar to games like dark souls and elden ring since it was a battle of attrition. Leveling up and getting better gear was clear from the first loss which meant it was clearable in one way by grinding levels vs changing tactics.

I suppose I will have to grind some monsters and see what gears I can adjust.

Sadly that's just about the whole game once you get EXE Drives; build bar, buff Vert's INT, use EXE until the boss dies

Offensive SP Skills do dogsんit damage and you don't get enough status changes (radial buffs/SPECIALLY debuffs) for you to make long-term strategic plays

So far only got Noir and Nep ultimate form.
Sadly I dropped the game, still getting level checked by every new boss and it's not fun anymore.

There are some places which you can abuse exp farming, like killing whales early on, or do some repeatable quests for money instead of grinding.

Latter you can unlock mods for make the game easier, particularly I dislike the normal difficulty because early on you don't have much into disc dev to make a impactiul change, but it's just me complaining, the game still is easy once you know what you're doing.

But don't get discouraged like that.

Bring items, compared to other games items are lifesaving in critical situations.
