undertale papyrus turned me gay

When this game came out, I was a dumb teen who was like "woaw cool skeleton so strong and bad ass!". Replaying it 10 years later as an adult I feel like I was able to understand it way better on a narrative and emotional level and I'm so glad I did. I appreciate the game way more now. If you are the type of person who gets emotional at video games. like me, going for a true pacifist ending will jerk some tears and make you not want it to end. Toby Fox and everyone on the team who made it deserve all the praise it gets.

Imagine an RPG where you can hug monsters instead of fighting them, date a spaghetti-obsessed skeleton, and get emotionally destroyed by a pixelated goat mom. That’s Undertale in a nutshell. The combat feels like a weird mix of Pokémon and bullet hell, the writing swings from absurd to heartbreaking in seconds, and the music slaps harder than it has any right to. It’s funny, weirdly emotional, and somehow, it all works.
