The games were delisted by the publisher/developers, but the artwork seems to be removed by Valve.
This way you could just download missing art to keep the look of you library clean.
That solution doesn't work in your Games list, just in your library. You can't customize art in the games list (at least not without a plugin).
As time goes on more and more games will be delisted, especially with how many games are now a live service. Is the Games page fated to turn into a blob of grey boxes over time?
This is just a small thumbnail, but it's one of the only things we have left for some of these long removed games. It's a very small part of game preservation and I don't understand why Valve has made this change.
- Colin McRae Rally: Has artwork.
- F1 2015: Does not.
- Dirt 3 Complete Edition: Does not.
- Dirt Showdown: Does not.
- Dirt Rally: Does have
- Grid 2: Does have
It's the same by the way for artwork in the profile game list as for in the library itself.I don't think anything changed with the artwork in the library, I think that was just Codemasters removing it when they delisted the games. F1 2015 has its artwork removed in the games list, but it still has it in the library for me.
There are definitely inconsistencies though, Spellbreak has been delisted but still shows art in the games list.

Not applicable in this instance, I'm talking about the Games list on your account (where you can see achievement progress for your games), not the Library list.
I made this thread to spread awareness on the issue and to hopefully get someone from Valve to take a look, to see if it is intentional, or a technical issue.
It would be nice to at least know that the reasoning behind this.
Valve won't see this thread. If you want them to be aware of this problem, you should try support. Just find the nearest matching category that lets you submit a ticket.
Only a couple of de-listed games behave like this in my library.
The format for the artwork in the library is 600x900
The grid image, the header image and even the logo. As well as the icon.
Search for steam grids on Google.
That's not what this is about, it is about the games list. Go to your profile and click on 'Games', the thumbnail displayed to the left of the stats/achievements.
