Valve please.. make your owne payment system!
Steam/Valve, for the love of God please create your own ''payment system,'' with your own rules and standard regulations.

Visa and Mastercard or someone els have become a serious problem. These companies always push the limits give them a hand, and they'll take your entire arm. This is not the direction we should be going.

Yes, it's fair to remove truly deranged or dangerous games but giving these financial giants too much power to decide what we’re allowed to play is going way too far.

censoring games is not the way.

What’s next? GTA 6? Call of Duty?

Agreed. I'm sick of the US trying to force their weird ideologies on us.
They should definitely try to find better alternatives.

But it's kind of ridiculous to think they could just conjure one up out of thin air.

..oh, little boy. You have no idea how similiar EU digiwallet system would be with Visa.
It will use same rules and will keep more accurate track of your money spend.
It would be even worse!

Steam's not a bank, how do you suggest they do this exactly?

We have our own payment system down here in Brazil (pix), that is 24/7 instant, automatic, and has no price, no tax, no cut, nothing. You simply scan a QR code and done, payment made, the money is taken from your bank account and delivered to your recipient in the same instant.

I haven't used a credit card or paypal to pay for anything here in many years.

And guess what? Just this week the USA started attacking it as "unfair trade practices".

The audacity. They really want everyone to be beholden to their credit card cartel.

No thanks, platform is bad enough already, Just ask any real parent, you wouldn't give your kids cocaine but you will give them a steam account. Enough said.

Isn't that essentially what Steam Wallet is? You still need to use a financial institution to put money in it, but there are several ways to do this, including a variety of credit cards, Paypal, and even cash by way of Steam gift cards.

Plot twist Valve's payment rules would be the same. So they'll skip wasting their time on it.

Let's talk when Reductio ad infinitum ideas come to pass. Pretending like any and all games are at equal risk might not be rational.
I agree, they need to do their own process payment system, they already have the infrastructure and can easily cloud computer using blockchain. Most of the community could even add into the processing power voluntarily.

Bad idea plus buzzwords equals profit!
laugh in 3rd world country that doesnt use mastercard and paypal payment (not available)
Honestly, there should absolutely be a way to bypass VIsa and Mastercard. Those A-Holes are on a censorship powertrip for the last few years across the globe. How much customers would their services lose if people can't buy anything with them? Companies should stick their heads together and declare a boycott against Visa and watch how people switch to alternatives.
