Steam account is locked.
I lost my debit card a while ago and a lot of charges were disputed therefore I closed my bank account and no longer have access. Steam is asking for me to reverse 3 charges backs that I am unable to do since I do not have the card anymore. Will they give me another way to repay my account or am I out of luck?

P.s I had my account since 2014 and never had an issue. I would truly hate to lose my account due to a small issue which I would want to get resolved as soon as possible.

Nope, you’re out of luck. Create a new account and avoid doing chargebacks in the future.

So there is just no way to repay them unless the funds are reversed through my old bank?

It says on their support page if I’m unable to reverse chargebacks to contact them which I did already.
You could try and tell them you longer have the card as it was lost/stolen and cancelled but would be able to pay the chargeback through another method.
Not sure if they accept that though

No need to create a new account.

All you can do is work with Support.

What we've seen is that on or around August 17, the restriction on the account would be removed regardless of what happens. Whatever card you had that issued chargebacks won't ever be allowed on Steam, but that doesn't sound like that's going to be an issue.

I appreciate your response. I don’t want to make a new account as I’m fully ready to fix this issue in any way possible it’s just not possible for me to reverse the funds. Plus I don’t want to wait because I’m scared I lose my steam account due to poor communication from them. (It takes days for a response)

The point where you closed the bank account is when everything pointed to untrustworthy and only that closed account could reverse the chargeback.

So what do I do from here?
Currently waiting on them to respond and see if they’ll allow me to pay with another form of payment.

There was a time when a chargeback would have resulted in a complete loss of the account. Since then, things have changed. They're obviously going to make their point about issuing the chargeback, though.

And to be fair I completely understand where they are coming from but this is a total misunderstanding. I’m glad they haven’t fully locked my account or took anything away from me but they gave me a date and I’m not sure if I can even get the funds “reversed” but I am able to pay it with another form of payment. Do you think they would allow that or am I SOL?

That sucks, man totally understand how frustrating this must be, especially with an account you've had since 2014.
You're not out of luck yet though Steam support has dealt with similar situations before.

Here’s what you can try:

1. Submit a ticket through Steam Support → go to “My Account” → “Data related to your Steam Account” → and explain the situation clearly.

2. Let them know the card is permanently closed and you can’t reverse the chargebacks, but you're willing to repay the balance another way (credit card, PayPal, Steam Wallet, etc.).

3. If possible, provide proof of account ownership:

Your original email or any past email linked to the account

Past Steam Wallet codes or CD keys used

Details on your most-played games or purchases

Be calm and respectful in your message support staff can be more flexible when they see you're cooperating and being honest.

You’re not the first person who had this happen after canceling a card, so as long as you’re willing to resolve it, they usually offer a workaround.

First of all thank you for your response. I already did all of those things plus I was very respectful because I fully acknowledge there things went wrong here. I’m just worried because I was on Chat GPT and it was saying my account will be permanently locked. Even though as of right now I’m able to do anything expect add funds, play anything VAC, or trade.

I’m praying they just allow me to repay without any issues or anything being revoked.
