Steam disconnects without an apparent reason several times a day
Steam connects all right, and several times a day, while my network connection is normal and functioning [ I'm able to browse, be in Skype calls, etc etc ] Steam just disconnects for 2-30 minutes.
I asked my friends if they experience the same problems, and most of the times they do.
Sometimes it disconnects but it doesn't show me offline to my friends :S

Is there a problem in the EU servers?

Same situation in California.

Now here's the funny part, even the admins (guys with starts) get disconnected. I guess they must not have a problem with that.

When there is maintanance the steam servers go down which is why you get disconnected. It's regular, just have to get used to it.

I heard that the maintenance is scheduled once a day but I've only heard it through other people. I'd appreciate some kind of popup in the client (way ahead of time, each time) about a planned outage due to maintenance, otherwise I figure its just bad network code. This stuff happens possibly several times a minute, or a few hours. Sometimes it doesn't get disconnected at all (for days). It can last for about a minute... or for 20 minutes. No way to tell.

I would be more annoyed by a popup every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ day then steam killing itself silently and reconnecting as soon as servers is up. What you are asking for is not user friendly at all.

I'm not talking abou it happening 2-5 times a day, I'm talking about at least 10 disconnects in a matter of 2 hours, some of them last for 2 minutes others for 15 minutes.
If it's a maintainance issue then fine, I'll bear with it. I hope it's not just a general problem in their network administration or whatever.
I agree with the popup, I'd rather know what is going on than get annoyed and blaming anything else.
