[Feature Request] Developer / Publisher country of governance details & hiding options
TL:DR: Request ability to block(hide) content on steam based on:
- Relation to a given developer.
- Relation to a given publisher.
- Relation to governance by a given country to publisher and/or developer.

-------------------------

1, I would like to know when looking at a title, or a developers profile, or a publishers profile on steam that they clearly indicate what countries they are governed by.
This data can be used in two ways:
- I am looking for software/devs/publishers governed by Sweden
- I am NOT looking for software/devs/publishers governed by France

2. Ability to manage what developers / publishers / software are hidden based on:
- Block/Hide a developer and their related software / publishers
- Block/Hide a publisher and their related software / developers

3. Ability to manage what software/developer/publishers are hidden based on their country of governance.

Examples:
- Blizzard / Activision, most of the outrage over their "Cosby suite" and other blunders is old news and forgotten, I chose to stop supporting them with my money and want to never see blizzard/activision titles be suggested/shown to me.
- Perfect World deleted preorder content I paid for from my account in a game, I refuse to give them my money ever again so never want to see their titles shown to me.
- I am not keen to install any software from publishers / developers governed/based out of [Insert Country Name]

While one might say, just scroll on past this offerings, but not having this hurts steam...
Filling their storefront with titles I will never buy is pointless. Makes me avoid casually going to the steam store unless I want to sit down and research every title that catches my eye.

Click the cog wheel > block. Beyond that I highly doubt Valve will link those in any way. In other words if you have conflict with a develooper/publisher, do some footwork and find out who is associate with who and you can then block at your leisure.
Larian Studios have several studios across the world.

Barcelona (Spain), Dublin (Ireland), Gent (Belgium), Guildford (UK), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Quebec (Canada) and Warsaw (Poland).

Quite a conundrum if you want one of their games but one of those countries is on your blacklist.

"Country of governance" is pretty pointless when companies can just move their seat to Cypress or Dubai based on whether they want to be European or avoid getting into a squabble with the EU. :P
Pretty sure such "Look, I am not associated with them"-countries exist in every region. Tax oasises very much do.

We are going through a several years long political episode where corporations belonging to an enemy government are weaponized against the populace of another country. The modern liberal education has always considered nationality concerns as gauche and low class (in part because corporations had a hand in crafting precisely thst culture. Too many people base their entire world view around a Beatles song lol) but as is often the case reality tells a different story.

That said you are probably many years from a change in the corporate milieu fundamental enough for corporations to acknowledge you have those concerns and allow you to exercise them. Until such time you may need to seek like minded individuals to track this information in an interest group.

Not really, If I was opposed to letting one of those countries have governance over software I was using, I wouldn't use it. I don't need to play games under those circumstances. There are plenty of fish in the sea that don't swim in those ponds.
