The publishers want "real" money. There is no way to pay taxes, employees and shareholders with bitcoins.

Did you read the services that bitpay offers? Answer: NO ;)
Bitpay offers a direct auto-conversion of Bitcoin in fiat currency.
Valve will be able to accept Bitcoin as payment without seeing anyone of them.
It will work the same as paypal or webmoney, that they are already accepting.

Bitcoin is not and never will be a stable currency.
Throw as many links as you want, Valve will most likely not accept Bitcoin as a currency.

And a link of my own: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-19486695

How many banks were robbed in history? How many paypal accounts were hacked?
You and VALVe are still using them.
Your link is just showing that your logic does not work ;)

Show me a link where I can read that Bitpay was hacked :)

Bitcoins have no physical value, which is why most people do not accept them as a currency.
HostFat 14 Sep, 2012 @ 9:16am
Have Webmoney value? Which is the physical value of euro and dollars? Do you know that euro and dollars are backed by nothing by more that 40 years? Do you known that there are some items on TF2 that are exchagned as money? Welcome to the real world and back to study on what the money really is ;)

Look, listen to what you're being told. Bitcoins have no value.
It doesn't matter if silly customers trade their TF2 items LIKE money. They have no monetary value in the real world. Funny that, neither do Bitcoins. For that reason, Valve will not use Bitcoins as a valid form of payment.

I repeat, does webmoney have value?

http://www.wmtransfer.com
It seems that someone think that it has. They are converting them between fiat currencies.
Webmoney is not common in europe/usa, but it's very common used in russia. So does this mean that it hasn't any value just because it isn't used in USA?

Look here: http://plati.ru/asp/index.asp
It seems that many of them are accepting webmoney.
Steam is accepting them by only 1/2 years. So did it become money only after steam starting accepting them? lol

And again look here: http://www.bitmit.net
Many unreal people are trading unreal things with unreal money ;)

I repeat, go back to study what the money really is ;)

I think we're just going to go in circles, so this will be my last post in this thread: Doesn't matter what YOU say has value and what doesn't. The point is Bitcoin will never have any real worth to anyone, whereas numbers preceeded by $, £ and other such symbols do.

Must be why I've bought $400 worth of products with bitcoins so far.... I've sold plenty of stuff for bitcoins, and BTC per $ rose significantly in the last two months, it went from $6 per BTC to 10-12$ per BTC. I instantly bought a blu ray drive, some blu ray discs, an 80$ sound card, and my 135$ headphones with the coins I mined from my GPUs.

It seems you are clueless on what real currency is... take an economy class and learn that Dollars, pounds, euros, all that stuff isn't real money. It's fake money, it's backed not by gold, but by trust. In the same way, Bitcoins are backed by trust. Currency is based on trust, and the value as well is based on trust.

In other words, you are stating that your opinions are the ultimate truth, and no one can have any other opinions. Face it, a lot of people see value in bitcoins, if there was no value, people wouldnt be selling products for BTC, there are many companies selling products, like bitforce FPGAs, companies that exchange your BTC for amazon/newegg/debit/etc. cards, there are some restaurants that accept BTC. If you actually take time to research, Bitcoin isn't going anywhere, it is heavily used in the drug market to buy and sell drags en masse. As well, if it wasn't worth anything, why did the richest man in BTC economy suddenly spend several million dollars buying bitcoins off the exchange market?

Just because you don't have any education in currencies and economy, and you don't understand how and why bitcoin works, doesn't mean it has no value.

The reason I see why it shouldnt be added. It would essentaily scam Valve of profit, or money to pay for services they provide to us consumers.

Edit:
That would essentially be the same as printing your own physical currency. You are scamming business's for your own gain.

Bitcoin are finite, they can't go over 21 million. It share the same rules that are moving gold value.

Banks and Paypal deal with established, real world currencies. Bit Coin does not. There's no reason for Valve to start supporting it. Throw around links and refuse to accept this if you want.

Someone else will accept it :) It's a free choice to be the first or the last lol ;D
