PvP Shooters with fair monetization?
Does anyone know of any PvP shooter with monetization systems as consumer friendly as DRG's or Redmatch 2's cosmetic bundles? I have personally been wanting to play more games where I shoot at players but most of the things I find are bellow my standards in terms of monetization systems.
I am willing to try anything as long as it involves shooting projectiles at someone and the game is not aiming to make my wallet bleed money.

Yeah, I guessed as much, but I guess I lose nothing for asking around, maybe someone will leave an unexpected recommendation.

Probably no one will see this to care but I did find one game thanks to the Noodle youtube channel: Straftat, it seems like a pretty fun arena shooter with a lot of randomness, I played it a bit with friends and it is a blast!

Insurgency. I prefer the older stand alone, but sandstorm is aight.

They don't really make those kinds of games anymore.

You might try some older games where the servers are shut down. Just look and see if they have private servers or something.

There may be some niche indie games too that have smaller communities. A game that's not popular is your best bet. What you're looking for is going to be fairly hidden, because the minute the people funding the game find out it's fun and people want to play it, they'll turn it into a store.

Yeah, that's kinda why I am having such a hard time finding anything that works. So far Straftat has managed to scratch that itch I had, although I don't know for how long that will last.
I have been playing Titanfall 2 and Redmatch 2 for PvP shooters, and while they are both amazing gameplay-wise, I can only play them for so long before I need a long break. If I get too desperate I might actually try to go back to Plutonium and see if I can find a lobby in Black Ops 2 with disabled killstreaks or something.

If not mistaken a friend of mine used to play this game in the past, so I'll definitely ask them about it and give it a look!
