The voice actor/puppeteer had some issues though so I wouldn't have been surprised, except you say their account was hacked.

I'll draw a parallel: If someone robs you of your gun, and then kills someone with it, are you liable for allowing your gun into the killer's possession?

I'd argue it depends on how your gun was acquired. Was it carelessly left out somewhere in plain view? Or was it on your person, and you were forcefully robbed at gunpoint?

Apply this to the account credentials; it depends how they were acquired. If they were being careless with the credentials, the ban is a lesson. If they were proper victims of something largely outside of their control, I don't see sense in the ban

It feels almost unfair. Had it been any of us, it would have likely been a permaban and we would have likely been told to go pound sand and cry a river because we failed to keep our accounts secure.

Unfortunately to a lot of people on the left, any criticism of the corrupt leadership in Israel is automatically antisemitism. Even when that criticism comes from a Jewish person.

I have to agree with this. While it is a puppet, Elmo is basically a celebrity, and celebrities always get special treatment that the rest of us common folk are denied.

I think it's a shame that people who have such skills use them to hack Sesame Street. They are very lost people.
