Something instead of live-action movies
What if instead of making live-action movies, they would make animated movies like cutscenes in game but at much higher quality which might not be viable in a video game.

Let's say, instead of making live-action movie of Resident Evil (series), they would make a hyperrealistic animated movie with same faces as in games (e.g. Jill Valentine from Resident Evil 3 Remake), like one 2 hour cutscene, no some actor or actress face over the one from the games.

That might sound good for games which graphics are supposed to be realistic, what if it would be The Legend of Zelda? In this case, instead of hyperrealism, they could've picked best looking graphics from all games, make it at much higher quality than the game would allow it, and do a movie with that.

In my opinion, that would be much more appropriate way to enrich the story/lore, and theoretically should bring much more satisfaction.

What do you guys think?

They have CGI RE movies. I think there are 3 of them, maybe 4.

You're absolutely right, my bad for not checking that, still, my argument stands.

With many movies having so much cgi scenes might aswell make them fully animated at that point
Like those Chinese CGI movies?

Seen a ton of them on youtube.

I think i only ever saw the fight of chris and wesker fighting in close quarters, shooting at eachother and missing every boolet despite being at kissing distance :TOIlogo: im convinced those animated ones are way better than the live actions

they definitely are much better. they are very high quality, and thankfully capcom just keeps making them.

here is the fight you are talking about by the way:

This is actually 90% of what you get when watching an Avengers movie.

it called alita battle angel or beowulf
XD yes so silly and over the top! Just like the games used to be. In regards to videogame movies those seem quite good and in line with the games( but i didnt played/seem them all so i wouldnt know)
The cost would be insane. There’s a reason those scenes are brief in video games.
Reminds me of the Final Fantasy movie.
