This could be a decent little gem.

The visuals are stylish without being too distracting. The character models look alright, and the background environments could use a little more variety to help differentiate courses, but is overall fine.

The driving feels very responsive and grippy, but unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any difference in feeling between driving a car or a bike. I had to kick the AI up to the max difficulty to get a good race from them, but if you do it too, be warned they have unlimited boost and are not afraid to use it. You probably won't notice it in the Career Mode if you stick to the boost pads on the road, but it gets very apparent in the Story Mode where they are absent.

Speaking of the Story Mode, I wasn't expecting the angle they opened with (nor all the technobabbled that gets rapid fired at you), but I am curious to see where that goes. The career mode is a little more involved, but I recommend splashing your demo cash to get the most out of it, as it is quite brief. Oh, and don't pick the special mode. Sorry, but that was probably the most unresponsive fighting game I've played in some time. I wouldn't pick it unless you want actual whiplash.

I'd say this is worth a shot if you're looking for another arcade racer.

Very basic in it's presentation (only music in menus, simple graphics, etc.) but the handling feels pretty good once you get used to the unconventional control scheme. Could easily lose a few hours trying to get good times on the tracks. Although, I'd spend even more if there were multiplayer or some kind of progression.

There's also a bit of sound popping while in-game. It didn't make my ears bleed, but it is a little hard to concentrate with it.

If you're an racing game fan who wants to try something a little different, I'd say this is worth at least a try. Probably won't shake the foundation, but it could scratch an itch for a satisfying racing line. Hopefully the full game will add more, but for right now there's only a single car you can paint, 3 tracks, and 1 test track.

A perfect sequel in almost every way. If you're a fan of solid platformers with imaginative levels, psychedelic music, and goofy characters in a strange world, you'd be out of your mind to miss this game.

I'd recommend (but not require) at least playing the first game first, which itself is a damn classic.

Early Access Review
A boring, broken mess of a game. There's barely anything to do except hit stuff with your pickaxe and get gunned down by people with superior guns. This game is still so early along, I'm surprised the animations work. Eating didn't though. I learned if you tried to eat through the inventory and not selecting it through your hotkeys, the food doesn't fill you up. I get that these devs aren't the ones that originally made the game, but if you want this to work, please put back in the oven for much longer. What's here feels more like an alpha than early access material. Which is a shame. I'd love to play a good cowboy mmo, but I've yet to see one pulled off well.

A three level action-packed hack and slash with a heavy emphasis on boss fights. It may be small, but what's here is so good. I genuinely hope the devs take what they have here and build upon it.

The story isn't really important and what's there is just to help propel you into the next fight. The controls are responsive and feel really good, except for the camera, which is a little too sensitive (at least on the controller it is. I haven't checked the mouse). The music is servicable, but it might get repetative since it's only the one song. The game looks good and ran pretty well. It's free and it doesn't even take an hour to beat. If you feel like putting the beatdown on some dragons for a bit, this game is perfect. Congrats to the devs and I hope they have a bright future in this industry.

The less you know about this game, the better. Trust me, this one gets... interesting.

You play as a person who has decidedly given up the stress of the city life for a relaxing and intimate in the country side, where you take over your grandfather's farm and start life anew. The music is beautiful and goes along perfectly with the relaxing and cutesy theme of the game. The simplistic pixel graphics seem basic, but effective at first, but once you get into the caves or see the beach on a summer's night, you realize that this game has impressive lighting effects that really makes certain places and scenes feel atmospheric and alive. Farming is easy enough and the game gives you a little quest that teaches you how to farm, but there's much more than farming. You can mine for ores and rare gems, fight monsters, go fishing, help the locals, and even get married. From a scientist who takes after her father, to a lonely wizard who lives in tower, it's hard not to fall in love with the interesting bunch that live in the valley. If any of this sounds interesting, then you will defintely like this game. All this was made with love by one person. Give this game a shot. You won't be disappointed.

A nice little wholesome experience for anyone looking for a rough, but fair rouge-lite survival game. Dare I say, despite the rather diminutive size of the game, I found this to be my favorite survival game. 15$ might vary from person to person, but I thought it was worth it.

You play as a lone survivor named Scout who is found by a dog named Aesop. Together, the two try to survive and find their way to a safe haven. The story you get as you play is rather empty and is just mainly "Follow the river until you find civilzation," with a couple major events in between. More adventerous players can find Quilts and even NPCs that spill out hints as to what possibly could have happened, however I still feel like there could be a little more explaination as to what exactly went down.

The actual surviving aspect can be a pretty detailed in some areas and requires a bit of a planning and caution. But (and this is just me personally) if you can get your footing pretty early and know what you need to look for, the game can get a little easy. It stops being survival and becomes more exploration and occasionally fighting off wolves, boars, and if you're unlucky, bears. If hunting is your thing, there are legendary animals you can sometimes come across. Unfortunately the only thing I've heard you can get is their pelt, which is mainly used for crafting warmer clothes.

But surviving on land isn't the only thing you have to worry about, as Scout has her own boat that her and Aesop use as their main source of transportation. It's a simple concept that mixes things up a little, but might get boring for some. You control the boat and try to steer it away from debris, collect loot that can occationaly be found on small chunks of land, and disembark when you find a suitable dock. The boat can be upgraded with little things that definitely make things a lot easier. A stove, a tent, and even an engine just to name a few.

This game is pretty looking. It's got a cartoonish vibe to it with some unique character designs. The houses are old and rickety. Trash is flung everywhere. Roads are cracked. Cars and other metallic objects are rusted and broken. The game has executed that post apocolyptic feel nicely. A feeling of serenity and solitude is casted from the old and weathered settings Scout can find herself in. After a while, however, you'll probably notice similar elements. Being randomly generated, some sameiness is bound to happen eventually. Landmasses in particular don't have too much depth, so you'll probably notice an island that was shaped just like the one you landed on a few miles back.

The UI is a bit wonky. It can come off as cumbersome and has also been the source of a few bugs and weird quirks I've ran into. It's not unusable though and they do try to make some convienent little comforts for the player. Wrestling with three different inventories (Scout's, Aesop's, and the boat's upgradable storage unit) can lead to overgathering and possibly misplacing some items. Furthermore, I don't see a need for an entire menu for Scout's clothes when you can just as easily use the inventory.

Finally, the music. Let me start by saying the music is mainly folk music. Harmonicas, guitars, violins etc. The music was made by artist Chuck Ragan. If you can appreciate the good ole natural, possibly "hipster" soundtrack, then you are in for a treat. The soundtrack is gorgeous and compliments the setting nicely. It can help keep the spirits up of even the weariest traveler and goes perfectly with scavenging and adventuring the southern backwaters and damning rapids of the river.

Overall, the game is small but provides enough to satisfy that survival itch. Even if you don't get the game, the soundtrack is nice treat for the ears.

I really like this game. Despite it's problems, I see this as a game that had a lot of potential but just fell short of being at pretty good, but was just enough to be ok. Although I defintely acknowledge the criticims and have a complaints of my own.

+ Well written story, voice acting, writing
+ Amazingly 60s soundtrack. Do-♥♥♥♥, R&B, and of course, classic Rock N Roll
+ Nice textures and pretty vistas
BUT...
- Janky lighting, ugly orange tint, and some visual bugs. (Alot of the bugs got patched out, but they're certainly still there).
- I hear framerate tends to be bad at times. I haven't experienced it personally. (I upgraded to a 1070 sometime before the release of the game. I wouldn't call the framerate stable, but I haven't had too much drop off.)

+ Gunplay is solid and when AI isn't being stupid, feels pretty fun.
- As mentioned, the AI can be pretty dumb sometimes. Also stealth is pretty basic and with a silenced weapon, becomes too easy.

- Missions tend to get repetitive and only vary in location.
- Those. Freaking. Phones boxes. (You have to collect 3 dohickies for 1 "transistor" to use on 1 phonebox. yay...)

-The Underboss system is disappointing. The city is split into 9 districts with the Bayou being no man's land. With 3 Underbosses, it's pretty obvious what you're going to do if you don't like only one particular underboss.

- These two small gripes are my own. The prolouge is cut up in a strange manner and the only way to switch between lethal and non lethal takedowns are through the option menu. Why not just map it to pressing/holding the takedown button?

? Lastly, I'm not sure how much this would get on someone's nerves, but I might as well explain it. The game used to be locked at 30 FPS, so the base game cutscenes are rendered at 30 fps, even though the game can go higher now. The dlcs (if you choose to play them) don't have this issue.

This game is rough around the edges and deserves at least a meh, but if you can see past the mediocrity delivered by a fairly new studio (and the fact that this game is only a Mafia game in name and it has Vito in it) there's some fun to be had and I would get it at a discounted price.
