The state this game is in makes it easily the worst FromSoft release. So close to greatness..

Final Fantasy VII is my favorite videogame of all time. That being said, playing Rebirth for the first time on PS5 was an unforgettable experience and an absolute rollercoaster of emotions. Needless to say, playing it for the first time on PC was also an unforgettable experience. This port is one of Square Enix's best ports and while it still has issues that can be mitigated with modding, it is overall really impressive.

I did everything this game has to offer and aside from being taken out of the main plot for Zack story beats, forced walking slowdowns, box throwing and the couple spouts of mini-game burnout, it is an absolute masterpiece in storytelling, music, characters, game direction and so much more. I had to go see the soundtrack performed live by an orchestra in Montreal. That is how incredible the sound of FFVII Rebirth truly is.

If you are a fan of the original game or have just come off of Remake, this game is going to give you a whirlwind of emotions. The way the dynamic music knows exactly how to tug at your nostalgia or transition the tone is just outstanding. Characters interact so much more and on a deeper level then the first entry in the remake trilogy. The world map is amazing and has such a good but not overbearing variety of area's to explore. It is genuinely fun to complete side content and it actively enhances the playthrough.

I urge you, if you're new to this franchise.. play the original game and watch Advent Children (and maybe follow that up with Crisis Core). After you do this, have a fun time with FFVII: Remake and then dive into this game. It is genuinely one of the best I have ever played as a big fan of Final Fantasy and this wonderful cast of characters. I can't recommend Rebirth enough as in terms of a piece of media, it is a miracle.

Fetch quest simulator. Decent soundtrack.
Had to call it quits at the 2nd section where it's just 10 mins of black screen with white text.
A game that unfortunately suffers from questionable game design and somewhat disjointed story-telling.

Go play Automata or a different JRPG.

Got invested in this game purely because I watched the Intro Cinematic. After countless times listening to It's Going Down Now, Color Your Night and Memories of You.. I can confidently say this game is nearly a masterpiece.

Above average story with great characters, decent gameplay but absolutely incredible presentation across it's UI, game mechanics, sound design and soundtrack. Give it a shot!

They actually managed to pull it off! One of the best horror games ever made.
The prison is a MASTERCLASS in horror and the way it retells the original is so whimsical and well done.

A flawed PC Port of an otherwise great and philosophical masterpiece

Short and sweet, a very good game!
There is not much reason to visit Momodora I, II or III with how polished this is.
Definitely play Moonlit Farewell after this as well!

While the initial 12+ hours of Octopath Traveler felt like a bit of a slog, I must admit that it didn't quite deliver the modern JRPG conveniences we've grown accustomed to. Managing levels and skill points for eight characters proved to be somewhat tedious at times, and the disjointed and occasionally padded storylines left me feeling a bit disconnected from the overall experience. Keeping track of each character's narrative without resorting to lore videos was also a challenge.

However, it's important to highlight that my negative criticisms end here. Octopath Traveler truly excels in its graphics and sound design, earning a solid 10/10 rating in my book. The meticulously crafted soundtrack, immersive voice acting, and stunning environments deserve high praise. Each battle felt like a unique puzzle to solve, especially when facing off against endgame bosses. The sense of reward from customizing my party in various ways was deeply satisfying.

Looking ahead, the game offers a multitude of replay options, from solo runs to specific job class challenges, promising diverse ways to enjoy the experience. Despite its flaws, sticking with Octopath Traveler proves to be immensely rewarding in the end. It's a journey well worth undertaking.

Unfortunately had to drop this one. With some appealing complexities to it's battle system giving fun encounters, the rest of the game is kind of a mess. Looked it up to see if things get better and I'm not crazy for not being addicted to yet another JRPG and it seems while pacing is great, the game suffers from extremely poor writing and characters.

A perfect game if not for Guardian Ape Phase 2. Sekiro is one of the most immersive rhythm games ever made. Needless to say you should play it!
