Straightforward, but not bare-bones!

Combat and looting is satisfying, skill tree is simple yet effective, lots of unique items for good build variety

the side quests and dungeon generations are where it shines for me, it never felt daunting to accept quests or go on missions like in some other open world games

easy to just drop in and have a good time

Got it as a gag gift from a friend... who in return wanted me to 100% it, get all the achievements and post a review about it

if you are gonna play it as joke it's pretty funny, but also really really messed up. The scenarios it drops you into are ridiculous and the protagonist should be put in prison. You do what you like to people without consent?? and little to no option otherwise, until that person eventually consents, and 90% of them are your family members.

It makes for a great game to stream to friends if you change the characters names to their family members.

But if you're into these kinda games the first half should probably sort you out, after that the storyline and writing just kinda drag on, until eventually everyone you care about whines, argues and is disappointed in you constantly, then the game is over, for a fantasy game it sure tried hit realism in the worst ways lol

Great RPG and as complicated or as simple as you want it to be with lots of replay value, i'm on my 3rd playthrough and eager for a 4th, discovering more story, tricks and fun ways to play each time, excellent pick up if you're into co-op, i've never played it alone so i can't speak for how SP plays out. Really nice choice of builds, lot of guides out there for class building but go with what feels best, easy to switch out one build for another if you don't like your current one, great mod support (recommended after first playthough). You aren't bombarded with information from the start and can slowly take your time to learn as you go, clean inventory management, trading is simple and of course thievery is very fun. The world isn't complicated to explore and map markers help show where you haven't been yet, there isn't much quest hand holding like in other more modern RPG's but it isn't difficult to get used to. It's well worth your money.
