My first impression of Class of '09 was something like: "Anime characters being presented in front of stock photos, not exactly what I'd look for in modern visual novels... But I'm intrigued by the whole theme and the voice acting seems solid, you don't find that just anywhere."

In reality, this game is a clever social critique of a teenager's life in America during the early to late 2000s, disguised as a dark comedy, albeit being fairly edgy. Because of this, I don't believe everyone can enjoy it. There are extremely dark routes you can take, but not only that, they can be seriously heinous, disgusting and unnecessarily offensive. But if you're not deterred by a writer going to extremes, pushing the limits of what the average audience can digest and enjoy a unconventional, controversial narrative style, I couldn't recommend the series more.

In short, Class of '09 is the best Visual Novel I have ever experienced, and I believe it's going to stick with me for a very long time.
