Very cool concept like guns of icarus

This game is such a massive improvement over FTL, it is what Street Fighter II Turbo was in comparison to the original Street Fighter. A total overhaul of the base FTL mechanics, with an incredible universe based on 40K makes this the best indie game of 2025 and maybe in all of 2020. Just the base game alone feels like it has 500 hours of content. Easily worth $20.

A small sample of the changes:

- Oxygen drains health as a % of the unit's health, so small units are better to handle breaches
- Fuel is removed
- All units heal a base 15% of their hp with each jump, making the med bay far less mandatory. The med bay does not last forever either, so it's no longer over powered.
- Most ships have a max of 4 subsystems, and some of them do crazy stuff like sieging the enemy ship with all kinds of weapons
- Minor systems (like doors) can be manned to give it a +1 beyond max
- more ships and types
- Sub bosses and multiple end bosses
- more weapons and types
- more systems/ship augmentations
- more abilities for crew
- more crew types
- more event types
- more enemies and types
- a fleshed out crew system
- psykers and magic
- rewarding difficulty progression
- multiple captain types that all play differently
- easily save crew positions and return them to place with click of button


These are just a small sample of the changes, the differences in crew, captains, and ships are also vastly improved over FTL.

If you liked FTL you won't put this game down, strong addiction warning.

Great co-op

Reverse bullet-hell gameplay, very original and tons of fun, but also this can be multiplayer (google it). Very fun in MP!

One of the best PvP card games I've ever tried, and I've played dozens. Extremely balanced and high replayability.

silly fun game, co-op for all ages

Game is way too simple, gets boring fast.

Demo is a fun updated Rome City builder with Gods, Monsters, and RTS style fighting. Full release looks very promising.

Really wanted to like this game - but the controls are too difficult. No inverted mouse on the Y-axis makes it impossible for those who've spent years playing with inverted Y.

If full game comes out with updated controls, I will reconsider this review.

Demo was extremely promising - the best parts of Faster Than Light with the worst parts removed. Far less random, dumb elements. Huge emphasis on crew loadout, equipment, and space combat is packed with tons of weapons and abilities from the 40K universe.

This is basically a sick FTL mod. If the rest of the content fleshes out as well as this demo, the game will be incredible.
