After 18 years we finally receive a worth successor with Sparking Zero.
I'd give it a 10/10 if not for following issues:
- Slight input delay on certain actions like power smashes, controls can be wonky
- on harder fights AI tends to cheat and 1 frame counter you
- Anime Music is not included within the base game and needs to be bought extra via two 15€ DLC
- Campaign Map can be abit slow to navigate, switching from level to level can take a good second or two

In total for me that's an 8/10 game and definitely worth buying for every fan of the series.

If only I were more creative, I'd be able to do even cooler stuff in this game.
There are so many different approaches to take and challenges to complete.
Definitely worth playing and tons of fun.

Note: So far I've only played freeplay. I like sandbox/god games alot. I've played a fair bit of B&W 1 and 2 back in the days.

As a first draft or proof of concept it's quite nice.
The music is fairly relaxing and I get what the developer is trying to accomplish.
However I feel like the player is missing some feedback when doing something.
People hit by the waves? Only the message "Flood" on the middle of the screen. No information where it happens.
I tried to create lakes like suggested by the dev however nothing was happening.
I didn't know why I couldn't raise the sand at a certain point.
The controls could use some optimizing. They feel clunky and unintuitiv at times.
When moving around the world it feels like it's missing a sense of height. I never really knew how high something was when building around.

Maybe an optional mini map with a bit of vital information could be helpful.
Projecting the brush on the ground instead of having it as a "crosshair" might work better.

I gave this game a thumbs up because I see huge potential.
