thirty something hours at time of writing and still no mahjong. The girl at smile burger doesn't give free smiles either. life is pain.

edit: 300 something hours now. I have had to replay the game on normal because this game is the only game that doesn't give you the achievement for not switching difficulty if you play it on hard. The girl at smile burger is disgusted by me, and the fact I'll be doing a THIRD playthrough to get the legendary achievement. She thinks I'm a creep because I keep coming back and asking her to please smile again like she used to in the 1980s. She furls her brow at me in scorn. kill me.

OWI does this thing a lot lately.

They're known for making Squad, a great FPS Milsim style game that has a relatively large playerbase, and they have this whole engine and framework they can build off of. So they do. They release Post scriptum (just squad in WW2) and this game (something actually not like squad and in WW1), but there's a catch whenever they do: They do not pay for any advertising for these games. This has been detrimental to this game, which only got press coverage by youtubers who played it saying 'oh look WW1 squad' and then who never touched the game again. Because of this, the game was DOI. Even at launch there would only have been two to three severs populated, generally not even fully populated. Now OWI has practically left the developers (Redstone interactive) to fend entirely for themselves on their nonexistent community. Because of this the game is still dead. There used to be a single Chinese server that had players, but now that is gone too.

All of this is happening while OWI are kneecapping their other squad knockoff 'Post Scriptum' by also not advertising it (whether that's free weekends or whatnot).

What is most astonishing is that OWI hasn't even lowered the games price from the at launch 35 dollars. This game has 0 players at any given time. Who in the right mind would pay 35 dollars? This game should be 10 dollars or less to get players in and then they should raise the price.

What sucks the most is that it was a good game with incredible potential. However OWI's incompetence as a publisher has completely crippled the game and I do not see any potential. Props to the devs for still working on this game... for some reason.

Edit: The devs added tanks. A very big step for a game with average 5 players. Lets see if that gets more people in...

Edit 2: ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ so the game has reached it's '1.0 RELEASE' and my god it's deader then a doornail. I'm telling you I've seen more living people in a graveyard. Not a soul in sight. There is one server. One. I do not count the other one with 800 ping hosted in China for like 8 people. The one server I was on was a great experience until I realized somehow the game performed so abysmally that it actually was barely functioning. It wasn't like that before. Some of the other 'Vets' (read, the guy splaying with 4 other people on the dead servers) were saying it was the tank update that caused that. that was what, 4 months ago? 10???? I have no idea. But one thing that's for certain is the dev team wasn't aware because there is 0 PEOPLE PLAYING TO TELL THEM THIS. The funniest part is the game is still like 30 or 40 dollars.

Make the game 5 dollars. Please. I beg you. Before I was being generous when I said 15 dollars and spend the money on adverts but with how it's running now I had someone literally tell me 'I got this game for free and I'm still disappointed'. I'm not even joking how could OWI take such a good product and run it into the ground like this. Make it 5 dollars. It needs players not updates unless those are stability and optimization updates. I ended my first and probably last time back in the most poetic way ever. A CTD from getting hit with a artillery shell.

edit 3: Looks like they brought the game down to 8 dollars. better, but keep the price there hopefully people will buy the game.

This game's incredibly clunky, the models are awful, and the gameplay is not intuitive. Menus are a nightmare and the games updates focus on more content then on improvements. The game all in all is a sandbox where you are expected to make your own missions more then anything. There's a multiplayer but I don't even want to bother with it considering how clunky this game plays.
