If you are fan of Blasphemous you'll probably like this one. Maybe a bit less polished but has it's own charm and I really love being able to choose my combat playstyle due to several weapons, spells and special abilitles you can choose from.

I just hope devs would fix mantling cause it was infuriating at times, because you'd be 2 pixels into the ledge and it wouldn't work. Thankfully wasn't a problem during fights.

I'm gonna keep my review short.
First - it's not FromSoft's game - don't expect FromSoft gameplay. It's solid but not quite there yet. Uniqie mechanics are fun most of the time and it's good to see some twists on stuff a lot of us know from souls-likes. Enemy placement could be better but this game offers you so many ways to actually counter/cheese some fights that even those awful places can be easily beaten.
One of the worst parts of my experience was stuttering, that still exists even after few patches (in my case it's getting better but not the fluidity that I'd like to have). Then we have multiplayer aspect, which idk if works well with friends, since none of my friends are playing this yet, but connecting to random people, either to invade or help them seems to be flawed and i'm getting more disconnects than actuall matches. And lastly NPCs quests, which are somehow worse than FS's ones - use guides for those or you are gonna lose ability to buy some valuable items.
That being said I've enjoyed the game. It has great setting, fun spells that even me, warrior player since forever, found fun to use. And my current playtime, which is 58h while writing this review is single playthrough with some item farming and a lot of exploring so it's decent in length. BUT I'd wait until performance issues are fixed to get fair experience.

Game itself is mostly fine, except for dumb ranking system, where people are carried to the rank where they don't belong and ruin your experience. Also mostly toxic community.

So... yeah. I recommended this game years back. It had soul. It had this vast world (lore-wise) and this feeling of this space-mystery and something mysthical beign there. This sadly is no longer the case.
Bungie has unfortunately treated this once great story-driven experience as common season pass garbage that started to feel less like a story and more like a chore or checklist to do. If you value your time do not pick it up.
Story is a mess, endgame unrewarding, it gets new gamebreaking bugs (last season I couldn't progress for weeks because certain system was completely broken for me and many other players I believe), like QA is nonexistent at this point.
Things may change with Frontiers coming later this year but I honestly doubt it because I think that most talented people at the studio were let go because CEO had to buy another luxurious car.
Also don't trust "free to play" tag. Your current F2P experience will be... nothing to write home about. So unless you spend $ on the game you'll be very limited. Which brings me to last point - paid content that gets vaulted every year. So yeah, you buy seasons, you buy expansions. Each expansion has several missions to them, most of which can be completed in one sitting if you are not new to the genre. And while expansions stay (with exception of 3 of those that were COMPLETELY REMOVED from the game) seasonal content also gets removed with each new expansion. So forget about playing your pace, forget about revisiting story. You'll be thrown in the middle of this mess, not knowing the characters or why things are the way they are. The only thing is constant is FOMO - because once seasons go away because of new expansion you can't really get gear from that season which sometimes is crucial to you having viable build.

To sum it up: it's not worth time investment. Go find some game that values players' time and effort appropriately and doesn't remove paid content.

I'll keep it short.

Pros: really immersive story and set up. Also some nice riddles there and there with not some obvious answer to them.

Cons: I just couldn't get in with blocky, not fluid (not fluid at all) mechanics and movement system. I'm wielding a sword and magic and yet I feel like I'm not even using half of their potential because I basically can't do 2 things at once.

To sum up if you don't mind horrible for the game in these times and age steering and you are there for the story it's definitelly worth giving a shot.

Story that gives chills, even though there are no monsters, no jumpscares and stuff like that. Instead the told story makes this really amazing experience. Be ready to face the consequences of your life after your death and face the truth.
10/10 and i'd love to see some that kind of game but longer.

I know, i know. I'm yet to finish the game but i think it needs some justice.
When i first read these negative comments i though: "well, i'll just run through it and see, probably what i've seen in other horror games". And i was quite right. However it's climate, feeling of lonelines out in this darkness... it gives me chills. It's simple game but i think it's worth a shot, especialy since it's free so we've got nothing to waste here, right?
