Twice I started a playthrough with a friend,
twice it was abandoned by both friends.

It really does take two.

The F2P model is a great way to experience this wonderful card game!

I will definitely play this game some more under my own volition, without any external pressures!

A game originally meant to compete with Metal Gear Solid, Splinter Cell provided from the very beginning a fun stealth-action experience that let you go through missions as a secret agent, leaving behind either no trail of evidence... Or a trail full of evidence that no one has been left alive to find, if the Fifth Freedom is granted.
The game doesn't have a whole lot of modern sensibilities and will absolutely require patience to go through, but its quick save and load functionality helps alleviate much of the frustration, as it only take one small success each time to inch closer to the mission complete screen.

Definitely make sure to get Enhanced SC for the optimal experience on modern hardware and operating systems:

While the game is majorly let down by its non-linear structure and its all-too-loose approach to narrative and overall cohesion, the best thing I can say about Assassin's Creed Shadows is that it's closer than many of its predecessors to "getting it".

...Gotta say, though - damn is the open world one of the most beautiful things I've seen in a video game. Nothing I've ever played before ever gave me that special feeling of free running through a THICK forest.
(I'm still miffed about how the game decides to permacrash on you if your save files experienced some 3rd party modifications, but thankfully I was still able to recover and enjoy the game)

Even the constant crashes couldn't stop this game from being yet another goated entry in the RGG franchise.

It's the shortest Assassin's Creed game in years.
