"Greetings! M'aiq knows many things. What is your interest? You seek knowledge. M'aiq has much. Some of it verified by actual facts!"

"M'aiq does not know this word. You wish others to help you in your quest? Coward! If you must, search for the Argonian Im-Leet, or perhaps the big Nord, Rolf the Uber. They will certainly wish to join you."

"Ahh... The beauty of the naked form. These Dunmer are rather prudish, are they not? Of course, there is an island you can reach filled with wonderful, naked, glistening bodies. It only appears when the moons are full, the rain falls, the seas run red, and it's M'aiq's birthday." - Referencing the pronounced nudity in Daggerfall.

"People always enjoy a good fable. M'aiq has yet to find one, though. Perhaps one day."

"Some people wish to throw their weapons. That seems foolish to M'aiq. If you hold your weapon, you only need one."

"M'aiq's father was also called M'aiq. As was M'aiq's father's father. At least, that is what his father said. But then again, you can never trust a liar."

"M'aiq can travel fast across the land. Some lazy types take carriages. It is all the same to M'aiq."

"M'aiq is done talking."

Mass Effect is, without question, one of the greatest sagas in video game history. From its richly developed world-building and deep lore to its unforgettable characters and phenomenal soundtrack, everything comes together to create one of the most fulfilling and emotionally resonant experiences I’ve ever had in gaming.

Of the trilogy, I still believe the first Mass Effect (ME1) stands out as the best. It leans more heavily into classic RPG elements, offering more player agency, deeper role-playing mechanics, and a haunting, atmospheric tone that sets it apart. The locations in ME1 also feel the most fleshed out, capturing a sense of wonder and mystery that perfectly fits the premise of exploring a vast, unknown galaxy.

That said, all three entries deliver some of the most memorable moments in gaming. The narrative scope, the character arcs, and the moral choices you’re faced with across the trilogy create a journey that feels uniquely personal and impactful.

Where the series truly shines is in its character development especially among your squadmates. The supporting cast features some of the most likeable, nuanced, and well-written characters I’ve encountered in any game. You don’t just remember their names—you remember their quirks, their stories, their loyalty, and their growth. These relationships are the emotional core of the series and a big part of what makes it so unforgettable.

If there’s one area where the series is somewhat lacking, it’s the gameplay. While functional and at times enjoyable, the combat mechanics particularly in the earlier entries can feel clunky or unrefined. That said, it’s never bad enough to detract from the experience, and later games in the series do improve on the formula.

All in all, Mass Effect is a masterclass in storytelling and character design. It's not just a game series it’s a journey, and one I’ll never forget.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is, without a doubt, one of the best games ever made period. If you analyze each individual aspect of it graphics, combat, writing, characters, world design it might not top every category on its own. But when all those elements come together, they create a truly remarkable, unforgettable experience that few games can rival.

What sets this game apart is how fully realized its world feels. Every side quest feels hand-crafted, meaningful, and often just as compelling as the main story. There’s an impressive amount of content, but it’s not just quantity it’s the quality that stands out. I’ve played through the game four times now, and most of my hours are logged on my GOG account, where I redeemed the physical copy. And honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if I go through it another four times. It simply never gets old.

The combat, while arguably the game’s weakest aspect, is by no means bad. It starts off feeling a bit clunky, especially for players coming from more action-heavy games, but once you understand its rhythm and layers potions, signs, dodges, and enemy types it becomes functional, and even enjoyable. It’s less about fast reflexes and more about preparation and adaptation, which fits Geralt’s character perfectly.

The DLCs (Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine) deserve special mention. They aren’t just extra content they’re full-fledged expansions that add depth, story, and hours of high-quality gameplay. Blood and Wine alone could be considered a standalone game in its own right.

At the heart of it all is Geralt of Rivia one of the most compelling protagonists in video game history. He walks the perfect line between being a well-defined character with a distinct personality and allowing players enough freedom to shape his responses and moral choices. He’s world-weary, thoughtful, sarcastic, and quietly emotional everything you’d want in a character whose journey feels epic yet deeply personal.

Do yourself a favor and play this game. Whether you’re a fan of open-world RPGs, character-driven stories, or simply appreciate beautifully crafted games, The Witcher 3 delivers on every front.
