Streamers beware:
The censor filter barely works; on the in-game photos, it doesn't function at all, basically exposing genitals, which in terms is a risk for a live streamer.

I hesitate to even start this review due to threats I received from the CEO two years ago as a former employee (uncredited). Just take a look at the other negative reviews—they say it all. I can't say much more, but sadly, I wouldn't recommend this game. With all the delays and nothing being done other than firing the entire original team and swapping leaders like used gloves, some great people worked on it, but their efforts have been severely undermined.

As far as supporting indie game developers, Woodland Games S.A. isn't a company to support. It's mostly owned by PlayWay S.A. and is under constant financial pressure from multiple publishers that invested in it, preying on young talent in the industry. And as a cherry on top, the build shipped on release is a debug build with unnecessary bloat and the wrong compiler used. 💀

Edit 28/06/2024:
Gameplay and Narrative Issues:
  • The game is extremely linear with only a single path, offering no replayability or alternative choices.
  • Promised content is missing, and what is present falls far short of expectations.
  • The autopsy procedures are poorly designed and inaccurate, failing to live up to the "simulator" title. Simple research reveals many visual errors.
  • Many soft-locking, progress-locking, and graphical glitches, especially with the organs, disrupt gameplay.
  • The "minigames" are dull, unintuitive, and quickly become repetitive. Some procedures lack any complexity, reducing the game to a point-and-click adventure rather than a true simulator.
  • The extensive delays do not justify the poor quality of the final product, nor does the price tag match the value delivered. It feels like a poorly managed project that took over two years to complete, yet still failed to meet expectations.

The only redeeming feature is the interesting case files. Everything else is flat and hopeless.

people still play this? lmao, lion games got cucked by gameforge, lost entire playerbase then doubled down on doing what gameforge did, game and story had potential but got ruined by typical corporate greed.

horrible, false advertising, misshandling of customer data, horrible terms, bad work conditions for employees (public social media) loss of data and progress happening a lot lately, Bungie refusing to take responsibility and admit to their mistake, 0 effort and mainetance on the balance of this game, if its not related to IRL money purchases bugfixes and patches will never come.

Bungie as a company lost all its meaning, morals and everything they once stood for, the maniacal player-base of destiny enabled their horrible behaviours and poor quality over monetization, Bungie has 0 regards for your data and privacy, not abiding by the European article 13 at all, some time ago there was even a document released that Bungie changed their definition of success from making the games they would want to play to how much seasonal cosmetic content can they sell each quarter, The legendary campaign compared to Witch Queen was horrible, the music while discovering Strand was just sad compared to how powerful and amazing it felt to discover Stasis in Beyond Light (Look Within OST).|

Save yourself the FOMO (Fear of missing out) and don't buy into destiny, it's not worth it.
As a new player you'd have to pay around 300~ EUR to get into the game and you still get barely any content to play and enjoy, most of the content has close to 0 replay value, where it gets really boring and tedious, PvP is unplayable from balancing and networking standpoint (netlimiting, cheaters, high ping, horrible matchmaking)

The quality of Destiny 2 looks more like a NFT pump and dump scheme at this point than a live service game.

3.6b$ nowhere the quality, yet another year money held hostage, serious mentally affecting FOMO and overall customer abuse, the EULA is horrid and not worth, your data is mishandled horribly, the anti cheat system is fully intrusive as far as even sending file samples without your consent, the only reason people play this is because of the FOMO(Fear of missing out) it's really sad to see this game go this way, there is no official customer support contact or tickets, you cannot inquire about any help with the game, it's not a game it's a service and it's provided “AS IS” and Bungie reserves every right to revoke your access to this paid service for any reason any time, any content you pay for can be magically gone any money you spend in the end will be gone and you won't have the stuff you paid for, amen. Yea still my favourite game, I do regret locking myself in for another year but what can I do?
