Absolute cinema, probably the best indie game I've ever played

It's worse than the 1st game.

Combat isn't as punchy or fast, you can't dodge out of your own attacks anymore with enemies also staggering less, meaning combat feels borderline turn-based which also causes weapons to feel far less impactful compared to B1.

Only one weapon has access to the aerial impulses from the first game, and the enemies I've found so far that they're effective against don't get staggered by said attacks and you can't dodge mid air so there's zero point doing them.

The rapiers don't have an aerial attack that goes directly upwards which is a massive nuisance especially during some segments relating to its abilities, and weapons in general feel like they lack some part of the Mea Culpa from B1 meaning they feel incomplete and unsatisfying if you've just played B1.

The hammer doesn't hit particularly hard, instead opting to knock enemies away sometimes, mostly out of weapon range and has a singular attack both on ground and in air and no combo making it very uninteresting and frustrating at times.
The hammer also struggles to turn midair. In B1 your character responded instantly to your inputs, whereas in B2 if you change directions midair too fast and attack your character will not in fact attack in the direction you wanted.

There are far fewer unique execution animations. This is a distinct downgrade to the 1st game where a genuine highlight was seeing all the unique and interesting executions.

The parkour sections are tedious, often locking you into a camera movement that shows you exactly what is moving, every time you want to attempt a section, and they're on the whole much less interesting than the 1st game's, especially lacking the tension of the instant death spike pits. These are general theme with traversal insofar as I have played.

The wall jump is also worse, stabbing Mea Culpa into a wall to walljump in game 1 was outstanding and relatively unique but it's been replaced with a generic wallclimb in B2.

And none of the areas I've reached so far feel as interesting or unique as the 1st game's.

There are also a lot more sections locked off with movement abilities compared to the 1st game which makes going through sections of the map feel borderline frustrating at times.

The UI controls are also some of the worst I've ever used on kb+m and borderline unforgivable in 2025. In the 1st game they could be rebound to be tolerable, but no such luck in this game. There's also a delay in so much of the UI control. B1 had its fair share of UI bugs for sure, but at least menu navigation felt quick, compared to B2 where I spend half my time waiting for something to fade in and out, or scroll the map with the world's lowest sensitivity and autocentering on tiles.
