🔁 Returning to GTA V in 2025

I mean, it’s GTA — we all know what this game is by now. But even in 2025, I’m still blown away. Not just because of the enhanced graphics update, but because of how unique and detailed the overall game design is.

I never finished the story mode before because I mostly played online with friends. But now that I’m older and more into single-player games again, I’ve started completing the story with my wife, who also never got far into it. And honestly, it's been amazing.

We understand so much more now.
The hidden meanings behind conversations
The controversial humor and social commentary
The real-world parallels and satire

The story hits differently now, and I really appreciate how bold and intelligent it actually is.

🌐 Online and FiveM Experience

I’ve been on and off this game since release. A few years ago, I was active in FiveM RP servers and that was a blast. Now I’m back to both GTA Online and single-player.

What I enjoy
• Tons of new cars to grind for
• Many new online missions
• Real-life inspired vehicles that look amazing
• Playing on max settings with ray tracing — this game looks incredible

🧠 Aware of Rockstar’s Flaws, Still Impressed

Yes, I know Rockstar has a bad reputation for being money-hungry and I don’t agree with many of their decisions. But at the end of the day, no other game has delivered a world quite like GTA V. You can tell it was built with a lot of talent, time, and care.

❌ What I Don’t Like (and How It Could Be Better)

1. Selling missions are unfair for solo players
You work hard building up stock, but when it’s time to sell, the game gives you three or four delivery vehicles and only 30 minutes to complete the job. This is almost impossible solo. Even with one friend, it’s still risky. The remaining vehicles are left behind, vulnerable to other players who can destroy everything.
A better system would be one vehicle with multiple drop-off points. That would make it challenging but doable for solo players.

2. Car modding is frustrating
If you misclick in Los Santos Customs, you immediately buy something without confirmation. I recently lost over 300K by buying two upgrades, only to find out the second one removed the first — without warning.
A simple confirmation screen or compatibility notice would solve this.

3. Performance is not fully optimized
I play on 2K resolution with max settings and a 5070 Ti, but only get around 45 FPS in the city. Meanwhile, my CPU and GPU are not even pushing past 50 percent usage. Other games run fine, so the issue is clearly with the game itself.
Rockstar should really improve optimization for modern hardware.

4. Garage and vehicle selection needs work
Calling your mechanic shows a long list of car names, but no pictures or stats. I can’t remember which car is which.
A preview image and some basic info would be a huge help.

5. Legal jobs are underwhelming
I really like that Rockstar added jobs like taxi driver, pizza delivery, and medic. But they pay so little that you’ll never be able to buy anything cool. You’re always forced to do illegal missions for real money.
A leveling system could fix this. The more you do legal jobs, the more you earn. It would make these jobs fun and viable for all playstyles.

6. Helicopter tours could be better
This was a great idea, but it feels rushed. The payouts are low and the missions lack variety.
There’s so much potential here with different tour routes, narration, and better rewards.

7. Still no nitro tuning
We had nitrous in San Andreas. Why not in GTA V? It would look stunning with modern graphics, ray tracing, and night reflections.
Imagine racing or just cruising through the city with flame bursts. It would be a perfect addition.

⏳ Final Thoughts

Now that GTA VI is delayed, this is the perfect time for Rockstar to polish GTA V with some final quality-of-life updates. Despite its age and flaws, I don’t think I’ll stop playing this game until GTA VI finally arrives.

And honestly, I’m really happy with that.
