Nodebuster at it's core is a relaxing, joyful experience that immediately got me hooked. I unironically sunk 3 hours into the game thinking I was only gonna play it for 20 or so minutes, only to take a glance at the clock and be genuinely dumbfounded that I'm still playing early into the morning.

With it's pleasant lightshows, rewarding progression and beautiful soundtrack, it's hard not to be relaxed and forget about the stress of life for a few hours.

It's actually criminal how cheap this game is considering it's level of enjoyment it gave me. 100% would recommend, game's a steal.

With an absolutely gorgeous art style and sound design, Hades has not only accomplished what it set out to be, it being a difficult, story driven roguelike, but it redefined what a good roguelike is to begin with!

The combat, no matter which path you pick, is absolutely pristine with each fight perfectly connecting to the next with flashy and responsive controls that leave you with these small bursts of enjoyment. It's something to get hooked on!

10/10 would pat 3 headed doggo again

TL;DR at the bottom if you're lazy af.

For Honor seems to be a very... "controversial" topic, the main problems being the way matchmaking, in-game connection and balance works.

The matchmaking is god-awful, sometimes sitting there for minutes to find a single match and that's only for a 1v1 match. Goodluck trying to find a Dominion 4v4 game or a Skirmish 4v4 elimation match.

Ubisoft made the poor choice of making a 70 USD game be hosted like a Call of Duty match; peer to peer connection. For those who don't understand the meaning of it, the game finds a player with the best connection and makes them host the game for all in it. This isn't bad in 1v1's unless the person has 10kbps internet speed that's as fast as a dead pig. However, from personal experiences, the lag is not noticable anymore. I originally played with 12.5kbps and did notice lag from time to time, however it was nothing to cry about. This games problem is NOT the connections.

As for balance, it's very... different. The characters I play the most happen to be the most looked down upon characters, Peacekeeper and Raider. Peacekeeper has lightning fast attacks that require you to really invest your energy in to parry / respond to. It's a reaction parry, nothing but; do I find this to be an issue however? Not really. Most of the characters currently are countered in different ways, (no ♥♥♥♥) blocking a Peacekeeper completely stops their combos and they have a long time to recover. Raider has a lot of flick attacks; one flashing attack to the right and flicks right up to the top with a single press of a button. The counter; don't parry side attacks and only parry top lights. The Raider cannot do anything. Imagine seeing this game be completely infested with Wardens. It's not fun; only a staring contest on who makes the wrong move first.

Adding on to balance, you will find characters you suffer with, just like any other game with multiple heroes to choose from but, ultimately the balance is fairly well done. The older characters seem to be falling behind with movesets compared to the new characters but that does not make them bad in anyway, shape or form.

I'm surprised that Ubisoft decided to put a campaign in this game and it wasn't even half bad. Of course, you can't expect much from a company that barely even puts a campaign in their games. Don't expect heart-tugging character development, don't expect hard and interesting fights; they're all the same. However, the cutscenes were a very nice addition and the long 6-8 hour length is also nice. Personally, I really enjoyed it.

Now, in-game cosmetics/upgrades. I am a sucker for seeing my character grow in stength or in badassery and only to find our that you have to invest weeks into a character, just to see it grow in the slightest pisses me off. For reference, the highest level character I have is Reputation 4, level 10. That's enough for purple gear that is just a copy and paste of the previous tier gear with some added spikes. It's lazy and a terrible way to reward your playerbase. Don't expect to look badass until your 700th hour on that single character. Did I mention those cosmetic upgrades also have stat bonuses in 4v4 gamemodes? It's one of the worst functions in a game; to have spent countless hours finetuning your technique againsts bots, only to die to someones combo because they have better stats than you.

With in-game purchases and season passes, Ubisoft did an alright job... if all the items didn't cost all of your steel each. for 7000 in-game currency known as Steel, you can get an emote that throws your characters sword on the ground, for 15000 Steel, you can get an ornament that looks like ass and an immersion-breaking "effect" to your character. Whether it be a smoke, lightning or bats effect, they all break any amount of immersive gameplay you had left. As for season passes, this is a really good example on how they should be done. You can purchase it to get the new characters early, a free effect for all characters and some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ornaments. It's actually really well done.

The biggest downfall of this game is the community, like League of Legends, CS:GO and other competitive games, the ultimate problem is the entitled, belittling community. Ubisoft added a neat feature to turn off in-game text chat which is fantastic. I recommend keeping this horrible chat off at all times, it'll only throw you off having fun in the slightest. You will find reviews overcomplicating the characters movesets and making them seem godly only to have their opinion and lack of skill make the game look worse than it really is. It's average in its current state but no where near as bad as people say it is, just go into the game with an open mind and don't listen to the community inside of the game.

TL;DR: This game is worth every cent if you enjoy skill based balanced combat; as long as you keep an open minded point of view, it's a very unique game and doesn't act like any other I have played. Hefty price tags, terrible community, keep chat off and enjoy the game for what it is.
