got my lab results back yesterday. critically anemic. my numbers were just not high enough. thank god for nubby's number factory. i might be dead without it.

but seriously, folks, this is a deal and a half. this game's only $5, but one play could get you millions, no, MILLIONS (all caps) of numbers. i thought ufo 50 was already good for dollars to number ratio, but this beat that handily. yes, i recommend this game. check this box if you received this product for free (?). send tweet*

*tweet, here, refers to any limited-character social media post. i havent used twitter since the incident

The game's good. It's frequently reinventing itself, adding new things to do and new ways to interact. I went through it slowly because i kept going back over and redoing stuff just to see if i could do it in a funny way, simply because i enjoyed controlling it. But it doesn't just have a fun kit; it also has a lot of very varied ways of fighting bosses, which is something that its chief inspiration (2D Mario games) was never really able to get down. The second act also radically redefines how to interact with the game, and it's great.

Also, personally. As an aromantic asexual, i kind of adored the aroace representation in the story. I really, really wasn't expecting that, i *never* expect to feel actually represented by media, and it's very heartening.

If I have one gripe with the game, it's the attack hitboxes from enemies that use blades. they're pretty much constantly active and static regardless of where they are in the animation, which leads to many cases of appearing to be hit by nothing. You can always deal with it when you know about it, and since you have infinite lives and there's a checkpoint at the start of each area (and often in the middle of larger ones), it never costs you a huge amount of time, but it can feel obnoxious when you're for instance learning how certain bosses work. That's really the only thing, though; it's otherwise fantastic all around.

enjoyed the game a lot (the 126 hours listed here are merely what i have on steam, with the vast majority of my time played on mobile) until projmoon caved to the incels who raised a furor after none of the women in the summer event were in skimpy clothing, and they fired the illustrator who was being harassed over cleaned up social media posts made before joining the company. social media posts saying such things as "i don't think secretly recording women in bathrooms is okay" and "i think women in korea should have the rights women have in other countries." y'know, baseline human rights stuff.

and realistically, i don't think project moon share actual sympathies with the regressive crowd. it's, extremely not reflected in their writing. but that doesn't change that they're being cowards here. they're giving in so they can go back to peace. that's what this is, it's coward stuff. but hey, if they're gonna be cowards who bow to pressure, then i may as well leave a scathing comments of my own from the opposite direction!!

if they reverse course and decide they do in fact want to be on the side of human rights, then i'll take this down, of course.

This game is pretty definitely the first time I've ever spent hours in training mode in a turn-based rpg. I strongly recommend this game to anyone who organizes spreadsheets in their free time. Even if you don't, though, the pace at which it introduces new tools and concepts means you're never totally overwhelmed, and while it encourages minmaxing, it's never exactly necessary to perfectly tweak every character's loadout. It's nice.

It's not really the most polished experience, but it's pretty cute. It's inexpensive and doesn't really waste your time and it's just kinda pleasant. I enjoyed it.
