Water is wet, the sky is blue, and Mr. Black still won't spawn.

I know it's just a meme at this point to say a game makes you feel like Batman, but *** *******, I actually felt like Batman

It's a great fishing game, with a surprising amount of depth (pun intended), but an incredibly predatory micro-transaction system. While none of the micro-transactions are technically required, they absolutely grant players a ton of advantages over those who chose not to buy them. For a free to play game, I'm okay with some of these micro-transactions, but one thing that I absolutely can't stand is the prices for fishing licenses. Essentially, in order to fish somewhere, you need to purchase a license for that location. You can either purchase a temporary license using a currency which is earned by catching fish, or if you want a permanent license, you have to use a premium currency which can be acquired by purchasing it with real money (some of it can be earned from challenges, but only a very small amount). While this would be fine if the prices were reasonable, unfortunately, they are about as far from reasonable as it gets, with the most expensive location costing you roughly $100. Needless to say, that is simply unacceptable. I hope the developers change this system soon (they probably won't), and if they do, I think they should take notes from theHunter classic, as I personally think it is a good example of how to monetize a free-to-play game (after their update, of course).

Unfortunately, there aren't many options out there for semi-realistic fishing games, so Fishing Planet is probably the best game in that genre. So, if you're able to put up with excessive micro-transactions (which should honestly be called "macro-transactions" at this point), then I must reluctantly recommend this game, but I will immediately switch to a different fishing game if anyone ever releases a better alternative.

A great 2D platforming game. The gameplay is fairly relaxing, with just enough of a challenge to make you have to put in some effort. There's also some funny comedic moments. While some people might be bothered by the lack of content, as it doesn't even take an hour to beat, I think that what we get is well worth the incredibly low price.

Early Access Review
It's a little buggy at times, but overall it's one of the best survival games I've ever played.
