Honestly a great game, the english dub gives me shakespearean play vibes. Combat and exploration feel slick. No issues yet

Gameplay is fine, plays like a game on the cusp of exiting early access rather than a full game. Lots of glitches and bugs that are still being patched as we speak. Would've rather it be released as a final beta than calling it complete. A complete game doesn't game shouldn't be this unpolished in the backend.

It won't hold your hand either, for better or for worse, the quest journal is lacking at times. I truly, absolutely, abhorred some of the player agency decisions in this game. It feels so wrong, and sometimes your dialogue choices just do not matter at all. You are being railroaded so hard it kinda killed my enthusiasm for the game.

Railroading is all well and good but that needs to be made clear from the beginning. It wasn't. You were tossed into a wide open world with so much to do that the developers didn't account for people...you know...exploring it, and wanting to make different choices. That's fine, scope is a pain in the ass. But at the very least make it a bit more clear. Maybe it isn't in the English localization because of translation issues? I could accept that.

That said, it is a beautiful game visually and has music to support that. I quite enjoyed the ambiance of the game. Combat is an acquired taste but when it hits, it hits. I quite enjoy it, using a mix of bow and spear/shield has made the fights quite enjoyable. Sometimes the creatures do some...weird pathing, but it's fine. Crafting system could've been a bit more clear on what you were capable of, but it's pretty nice. Thought I'd be able to make my own weapons and armor but...no, you can't. Not too bothered by it but it kinda sucked since it feels like visually that was meant to be.

The LP system is fine, no complaints, but no praise either. You just gotta be really sure what you want to go with because when you do, there is no respeccing. A weird thing to omit these days but I can understand the intention.

Overall, I give this game a 6/10. I'm in Act 4 now and intend to finish it, but I honestly can't recommend it if you aren't a huge Gothic 2 fan and don't mind watching the consequences of a faction's actions even though it feels like you should've been able to stop them earlier.

For a game that caught my attention by chance, it was fun though, at least for the first 15 hours. I suppose if the developers could change anything now? I'd say just keep doing what you are doing and clean up all the bugs. Don't release a game in this state again though, it certainly needed more time in the oven, or an early access testing phase.

You can do so much in vanilla, and even more with mods. You are only limited by your imagination.

Early Access Review
Indiestone takes a while to update their game. It's been about ten years in early access. If you are looking for a solid, complete, zombie survival game, look elsewhere.

If you are looking for a spit and duct-tape bound realistic zombie survival sims 2 game where there is so much game complexity to explore, then yeah, it's pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good. The modding community is amazing, some of the dedicated servers have amazing modders to support them as well.

Be patient with the devs, they are trying. Do I wish we could have stuff faster? Yeah, I do. But it is what it is.

You will either love it or hate it.

Looks cool, but gameplay design is very flawed. To be blunt, the UI is bad and lacks key information such as how to sort your inventory without checking the controls, I had to take a guess that you could sort the inventory, but it wasn't great that there was no indication I could in the first place. Settings UI is also very obtuse, and hard to navigate.

Objects are extremely small so it's hard to pick them up with a mouse, no idea why you can't do it with a button. Controls in general are strange. Journal is L instead of J? A lot of other QOL gameplay features are toggled off by default, don't know why.

Combat sucks, you have to CONSTANTLY CLICK TO HIT. Hitboxes are small, enemy aggro leash ranges are strange and don't work very well. Arrows are treated as very narrow projectile so sometimes you miss by a pixel.

The skills look interesting on paper but seem grindy, animations are extremely slow, and you need to be a certain level to do things like...cook boar ribs(Level 5 Cooking). When the game throws 100 boar at you and 1 deer. It seems very counter-intuitive to me when you can't even USE THEM until you spend time hunting deer to level cooking, and deer run away from you at 50mph and it isn't like you stay locked on or the target highlight works. So good luck trying to hunt.

I got to the next town with no real issue with difficulty, game just feels buggy and unpolished, and not worth the purchase at the moment, even on sale.

Do you like mowing down countless hordes of enemies with an array of weapons? Do you like mining minerals? Do you like rocks and stones? Do you like mission based gameplay?

Then you will like this.

There is no major story, there is no real "meta". Play with a variety of cool weapon upgrades called OverClocks to change how your weapons work or buff em. Use what is fun! Play for fun!

Don't be a leaf lover and be toxic and you will have a great time!

Broken game, multiplayer doesn't work, and isn't getting any more dev support.

So, like others have said, this game is a pretty nice homage to the early Legend of Zelda games. However, for $15 bucks, even on sale, I would not say it is worth it. To give the game some good boy points, it has good music which isn't repetitive and is actually quite creative. The composer did a great job. The graphics are ok, it certainly has some good spritework. Story is ok too, nothing extraordinary, but its a homage, not a love letter.

As for the bad, the game is extremely, and I mean EXTREMELY unpolished, despite being fully released. I finally gave up after getting hardlocked in a dungeon where the idea is to use a warp arrow to switch places with a special stone. The hardlock comes into play where, if you get knocked off a ledge (and I will talk about that in a moment), you get sent back to the place you fell off from, or sometimes the beginning of the room. Sometimes, this helps for getting back to the beginning of the room when you get the treasure, but in most cases it is just incredibly annoying.

Back to the ledge thing, so the game takes place in an ocean setting. So sometimes, you have spots you can hop too in the overworld and dungeons. Its pretty neat, however, the game is incredibly, and I mean, incredibly eager to make you jump, sometimes when you didn't even mean to jump at all. So you just yeet yourself off into the water because even though it's an ocean world, no one knows how to swim (sure? I guess). Other than that, you can ignore most of the monsters because they are braindead and follow very little pattern save for the bosses which can be one shot with a lightning spell you get early on, So feel free to cheese bosses which have no real puzzle to them except for smack 'em until they are dead.

Overall, I wanted to like the game. The sidequests are neat, the main quest is ok I guess. But I hate how unpolished the game is, it was a struggle to get through it and I hated most of it. Also there is a quest, called Fykonos Island, that will pretty much deplete your inventory of your weapons and bombs. Sure you get your weapons back, thats fine, quests like that are a trope. Where I didn't like the trope is that another quest earlier in the game gave you enough bombs to last till death. I thought maybe I'll get all those bombs back!

You do not. I guess I'm being too harsh since you don't need that many bombs, but the lack of polish still shows the oversight nonetheless.

Get it if you love Legend of Zelda and clunky games, otherwise save your money and buy something else.

Early Access Review
Edit:Edit:Edit:

I thought they would listen, and it was more so shallow follow throughs. Game hasn't really done anything to draw people in still. Feels very stagnant, not very interested in finishing. Doesn't feel like it's worth my time anymore. Avoid it.
