Hearing this was coming gave me something to look forward to, and it delivered an experience that I won't forget anytime soon. It's not a flawless game, with some oblique puzzles and irritating backtracking, but no game is flawless anyway. What Hiveswap Act 2 is, though, is a riveting narrative with poignant social commentary effortlessly weaved in. While the story may not hook you as much if you weren't already invested in the Homestuck universe, it still stands on its own as an achievement in storytelling. The developers put their hearts and souls into the game, and it shows. Act 2, much like its predecessor, oozes personality and charm, with a distinct style that I can't get enough of. The characters are compelling, the story is compelling, and I finished the game in awe. In my view, Hiveswap Act 2 is nothing short of an emotional tour de force, and I only wish I could experience it for the first time more than once.

This game is wonderful. It'll screw with your brain in ways you never thought possible, and when you solve a puzzle, you feel like an absolute genius. The characters breathe life into this game. Whether being called a "smelly piece of trash that sits around doing nothing" by GLaDOS, or being punched into a pit by everyone's favorite moron, or being told to play it cool because "here come the space cops", I always felt completely immersed in this game. I never made it through the original, but now that I've gotten the hang of this, I really need to go back and play it. And I'll admit, I NEVER looked up how to solve the tests, but I did need a little help navigating between tests in the second stage of the game. Although I have yet to try co-op, I hear it's wonderful. If you're the type of person who likes a challenge, or is just looking to hear some hilarious dialogue, Portal 2 was tailor-made for you.
