READ BEFORE YOU BUY!!

Okay, so I don't normally post a review with so few hours, I usually wait until I know what I'm talking about on a pretty in-depth level, or at least with a real good understanding of the scope of a game to communicate its entertainment value. But I feel compelled to very early in my Void Crew experience because of these wannabe-critics running their mouths with TWO WHOLE HOURS of game play!! Don't listen to them, they're idiots. How they get so much attention tells me they either stream a bit and have followers help them, or they have a few extra Steam accounts so they can jerk themselves off and make it appear they're opinions are "warranted". Nobody knows ♥♥♥♥ in two hours of this game! It's hard initially, but it's a blast thus far, and has huge potential, like almost DRG-like in a very loose way; mainly in how intense it gets and that your shipmates all have jobs or roles to fill so that your ship doesn't blow up, or so that a mission gets done smoothly... or even just gets done, lol.

Anyways there are real criticisms to be made, some of these comments kind of touch on these aspects, but they don't know ♥♥♥♥ in two hours to make their long diatribes. One critique I have from my experience is that the running is kind of janky, like it feels like a fps that is lagging a bit sometimes, so it definitely needs optimizing or even just fundamental changes to how running and walking feel, but it's not so glaring that it ruins the game, just one of the cons. Also it's hard, like real hard at first, and not the kind of hard we give others moms, it's the frustrating kind of hard because you don't know what you're doing, then you get thrown into the ♥♥♥♥, then die, haha. So early on the scramble is half-panic because you're running around like an idiot who set themselves on fire not knowing what to do or how to make it stop, but as you learn, it starts going smoother and tasks get done, battles won, etc..

Another critique I notice many make is the leveling, like maybe the skill tree isn't big enough or gear or ship progression that helps retention. Nor is loot kept, or at least from what I have seen. Everything gets taken when you return to base, and though it is worth or traded for xp, it sucks modding up a ship, putting the work in to make it more badass during a mission only to lose it afterwards. So hopefully the devs will address these aspects and give us more fuel for addiction.

On the positive side, it's just fun! The intensity actually works for it, not against it... most of the time... some of the time... I'm new, so I'm still in the phase where much of chaos leads to death, which means little to no reward. But the scramble or oh-♥♥♥♥ factor is real, all with your buddies which makes it great, rewarding... or not, haha, and it has an overall satisfaction from just doing your part to not die, lol!

Check out a few of the YouTube reviews to watch teams of noobs play. I was sold just by these guys' reactions: Rimmy Downunder, AngryJoeShow, and Worth A Buy. They are good vids to see what it is like. Or just buy it and play! It's pretty good! Not phenomenal yet, but give it a chance and we might fund this project well enough that it expands into an amazing gem! It has real potential!!

Wait, what? Mixed reviews? Which appear to be based on bugs, lagginess, stability, etc., referring to the game as unfinished? :/

So I have played this on several different computers, very different builds from an AMD CPU and 1080ti, to an Intel CPU and 1080ti, to now a Ryzen 9 7950x with a 4090, a lot of my friends played this with various builds, and besides week 1, which was a mess, the game is stable in my very tiny sample size, which doesn't mean much, but here is the only place I have seen this particular critique with such passion... it's a bit strange.

Anyways, the game is great! There is a valid criticism that there needs to be more maps and more to do, but some of the hate in some of these comments is outrageously stupid... almost certainly by stupid people. People you don't want to game with anyways, so ♥♥♥♥ em. If one doesn't enjoy it, right on! Thumbs down and maybe if one is motivated explain why... but sheesh, some of these comments...

With what Fatshark has released thus far, I have hit 560 hours over a couple different periods of time of playing... then stopping, playing other games for a bit, then returning; ya know, that cycle. I'll probably play a couple hundred hours and burn out again, but I will almost definitely come back because it's fun!!! And it's beautiful! A bit of icing on the cake ;)

What's with these few whiny babies complaining about the most minuscule aspects?

So anyways, I'm still using a 1080ti and can run this without issue on Ultra settings. I'm at 86 hours atm and may have run into one or two bugs... maybe? Nothing game breaking that I can recall. My only real complaint is utilizing the damn maps... you get used to it, it's just annoying initially.

Fantastic game! Cool story thus far! Lot's of drama, realistic characters, and definitely story-rich; all on top of some pretty sweet fast and fairly intense action, with lots of customizing and builds to work on! Check it out, it's worth it, and don't bother with the whiners... they're a spoiled dime a dozen these days over the dumbest ♥♥♥♥.

So here's the deal, I always wanted to like Castlevania, dating back to the 80's (I'm not old! ...but yes I ♥♥♥♥♥♥ your mom), but I never got into any of them... Every single time I feel the gameplay wasn't my style, but the environments, music, and theme, etc., were what I was attracted to. Now I got amazing gameplay WITH the Castlevania theme! Plus the soundtrack is pretty rockin!! They totally got it right! I mean many of the songs are straight from Castlevania, including Bloody Tears!! But yeah, it's good!

Definitely get it!

Fun class! It certainly adds to the game.

Don't bother with these critiques; they are all regarding Fatshark not giving them everything in other DLC along with this for the Grail Knight; some of them even the entitled "I deserve a trophy as an overweight fat boy that almost finished a 100 meter dash in track and field" types. The fact is every class may have more cosmetics elsewhere that may cost more later, same with more content; you don't get the fruits or rewards of someone else's labor for free :)

I love this game thus far! Super fun!
Has a good balance and pace for progression and the satisfaction of.
Funny interactions between characters.
Fast paced! Also fast paced slaughtering... like super brutal, while being light-hearted because of the character's humor, which really has the illusion of toning it down, lol
Only drawback is being forced into roles... more characters to choose from would be nice, but still it's cool!
Buy it! It's fun!

It's an amazing game with a lot of content.

One thing to note: all of these edgelord ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in the reviews with under a 100 hours making long diatribe claims about the game, are lying. Period. I don't mind valid criticism, but 99% of these douchebags are simply making claims they cannot make at 5 to 20 hours in.

I'm at over 100 hours and I have barely scratched the surface ;)

Almost 2 years later, and I still can't play. Summer of 22 most of us burned out, we played a thousand hours or more within just a few months of launch. But bots and Amazon's terrible policies ruined the game, so we all took a break.

Before we left, a couple of us had been helping Amazon track bots, even allowed a couple bots to join our guild (yes, they'd spam chat looking for guilds... it made them appear legit), and the Amazon tech support was super grateful and there was a lot of back and forth to track these douchebag bot mofos. So when we all took a break, Amazon's policies kicked in and allowed the owners of the bots to simply take our guild from us. Thousands upon thousands of hours of work by our players, all dumped down the drain, and the Amazon employees that we once helped, couldn't tell us anything. Then Amazon got rid of most of the live support, still allowed bots while making their idiotic lying claim that they had dealt with the bots, and all at everyone else's expense.

Wonderful game, but it brought over to the US by a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ piece of garbage company. Went from spending 20k+ per year over Amazon, to nearly 0. Will talk ♥♥♥♥ about them every chance I get. ♥♥♥♥ you Amazon.

A little bit of tower defense.
A little bit of base building and resource management.
A little bit of top down shooter.
A little bit of skill and tech tree advancement.
A little bit of exploring and discovery.
Add in a lot of time, and voila! A ton of fun!!

Also the graphics are pretty badass.
