The gameplay (of what I've played so far) is actually quite fun, the tutorial is comprehensive, the game itself is quite well made... however, that's about all I can say positively of this game at the moment.

My main complaint, and one that you'll see echoed throughout several other reviews is that everything is split across multiple different terminal windows, each of which only have a few commands. This leads to constantly moving windows around and entering commands in the right interface, which, adds to the length of each step. Next, the font, and user interface is difficult for some individuals to read (myself included), coupled with odd placements of certain UI elements, such as the current objective (as the missions have to be done in a certain way) being automatically hidden in the corner depending on what you're currently doing. Clicking on the box to view your objective leads you to the main menu, something which frequently annoyed me.

I honestly wish I could recommend this game, but, there are enough things to me about this game that just... aren't for me, others might (and evidently do) enjoy this game, it's just, not for me.

PS: word of warning, the tutorial took over 2 hours to complete, as such, I can no longer receive a refund for this game, it's a good tutorial, don't get me wrong, but it's still worth mentioning that it takes over 2 hours for the average player.

Alright, Let me be clear about this game, i like Space Engineers, it fills the Niche of being one of the best space mining, construction, and combat simulators, with an emphasis on crafting, construction, and resource management. this game, even years later, absolutely Excels at that one position.

The developers, however, are doing this game rather dirty. First, you may have noticed that this $20 game has $60 of DLC on top of it if you want to get the whole experience, and trust me, this game is absolutely not worth $80. as most of these DLCs add things such as cosmetic blocks and a rather shallow "economy" that seems rather out of place. Keen claims that they make these DLCs to "help support" the development of the game, however, even several years after i purchased this game, it still feels rather samey and desolate if you don't have friends (which, engineers have a distinct lack of irl if we're being fair) meaning that this game can easily feel pointless and boring to most people, Keen has done nothing to fix this.

Overall, i would rate this game a 5/10, it excels in what it does right, in fact, its one of the best games... if you specifically want this kind of space game, however, with the developers only focusing on adding more DLC and the game not having much outside of the "space engineering" parts, it gets a much worse rating as a result.

Rarely do you see an old greenlight game get so much love and support from its developers. Especially love that makes the game much better. I've been playing this game since alpha 0.08 (2016), and since then, the game has evolved by leaps and bounds, which is always great to see.

The game itself, however, is also top-notch. being a soft-body vehicle impact and driving simulator at its core, BeamNG started out as little more than a crash simulator, however,Beam has since evolved into a quite compelling racing sim. (sort of)

Despite that this game has a lot of potential, its still nowhere near finished, which, as stated before isn't as problem due to the devs still working on this game consistently, it Does mean that you aren't technically getting a complete experience when you buy this game, don't get me wrong, what's there is great, but you still can't ignore that it's not finished... yet.

Overall, 9.5/10, BeamNG is absolutely worth it given the price and the amount of content you get, and will continue to get years ahead. if you like racing, driving, or vehicles in video games, then Beam is a must have experience to you,

This game is a story of how greed erodes creativity.

Introversion is genuinely a great company with many great titles, Uplink, Defcon, and This game (at one point) are all games that were made with love, care, and excellence.

Everything changed with that, when this game, their most successful title was bought by the same company that offers several multi-hundred dollar strategy games due to all of the excess DLC they tack on, much like how Kerbal space program was purchased and ruined by Take-Two, this game was also ruined by Paradox.

Do not buy this game, you wont be getting a good experience, a game that has to continually lock repeated content refreshes behind a paywall is one that i genuinely cannot recommend.

Paradox Interactive, robbing their audience since 1999.

I really like the developer, and how he has kept this game up to date, however this game is problematic.

con, High Difficulty: it WAY too hard for new players, even at beginner, this game does not explain (fully) how to keep from going bankrupt.
it also relies too much on trial and error; which is the sign of a poorly thought out experience.
don't get me wrong, i don't think the dev is stupid(or anything like that), i think that he diddn't anticipate that.

pro, Very fun: this game is very fun, if you can get the money thing sorted out, and i would not trade this game for a similarly priced one.

all-in-all i would recommend this game, but be aware about the mountain of a learning curve.
