TTT M9K Weapons fix (Only GC36C Spawning) [Dedicated Server]
By Dark and 1 collaborators
The addon which adds most of the M9K weapons into the TTT gamemode seems to be broken and doesn't work straight away out of the box. This guide will help you fix the addon so that all the available weapons spawn instead of just the GC36C.

Introduction
These steps helped me get all the M9K Weapons spawning in TTT. See credits below.

Please respect the addon authors copyright and don't upload the products of this guide for public dissemination including on the Steam Workshop.
Method
Video Tutorial: YouTube

Step 1:
Download the TTT M9K Weapons addon. Do this how you normally add addons to your dedicated server.
Step 2:
Locate 716631815.gma. This is the addon file for the TTT M9K Weapons addon.
Make sure to use the version downloaded by the server - it isn't the same as the one downloaded from the workshop for clients. Thanks to Gianni for pointing this out!
Step 3:
Extract the file using gmad. gmad is included with a gmod client install.
(<...>\steamapps\common\GarrysMod\bin\gmad\)
For Windows users just drag the addon file onto the gmad.exe executable.
Further details about extraction can be found here[facepunch.com].
Step 4:
Following extraction, you should now have a folder called "716631815". This contains the unpacked addon files. Duplicate the "weapons" folder contained within the "lua" directory. Rename this copy to "ttt". Your structure should now look like this:
- 716631815 - lua - autorun - effects - entities - ttt - weapons - materials - <...>
NB. There are duplicated assets here but it is only ~400KB. My testing showed that it didn't work it the weapons folder was only renamed and not duplicated.

Step 5:
Put the entire folder "716631815" into the dedicated servers "garrysmod/addons" folder.
If you rename this folder and want to use it on a Linux based dedicated server make sure that the folder name does not contain capital letters!
Step 6:
Profit...?

Hi @Winnie Da Pooh
I have a feeling that you're right and that the "TTT M9K Weapons addon" changes how the weapon are implemented so that they work in TTT. You might have better luck with using the M9K weapon packs without the TTT addon enabled for Sandbox.
As for ADS'ing - I've been out of the GMOD space for some time and I'm not sure if recent game updates might have broken this feature for these relatively old addons or if it relates to running in the P2P environment. Hope you manage to get it working

i did this and it worked on p2p but i cant aim down sights at all, also using m9k in sandbox is broken..it seems that when spawning in the weapons in SB its taking the ttt form of weapons or something.

I got this working on a Peer to Peer server by doing what you described below. I also deleted the old gma file, leaving only the folder behind.

Hi @Jnktrooper
Unfortunately I haven't investigated this fix for client-hosted servers. It might work if you follow the same steps and put the modified addon in your client addons folder.
Alternatively, and I accept this is very inconvenient, you could host a dedicated server yourself on your local machine. I have a guide for doing this which you can find in my Steam guides section.
If I get a spare moment this weekend I'll try look into it but I can't guarantee anything (especially given the pandemic).

How do you fix it on a non dedicated server. like I am inviting my friends through steam

I don't know what I did but I somehow fixed the problem. I wish I would've recorded my steps in case it happens again. Thank you for the quick response.

Hi @Riles,
I've seen this a few times but haven't managed to work out precisely what causes it.
Its a bit of a pain but in the past a fresh install has solved it for me.
It may also be worth checking that all of your other mounts like CS:S are working

Weapons work, scopes are not. They appear with pink textures. Any fix to this?

And where is this "cache".
