Actual legit helpful info (Affection overview)
Affection has 4 different levels, these levels are as follows:
Red
Blue
(These levels only available in Reminisce onward, might have changed in remaster)
Yellow
Pink

(NOTE: the colors for the affeciton levels seemed gltiched on launch, as well as the online/offline colors. the first level is displaying as blue and I suspect level 2 might end up beign red, or somehtign else entirely, will update as i go on.)

Each level has 5 levels within it, represented by little orbs orbiting around a colored heart, found on the character's profile.

Affection is raised by several things:
Responding favorably in email chains
Giving gift cards earned through the book of 1000 (awarded for completion stuff like item collection)
Performing a "favorite" action in battle
Kicking the ♥♥♥♥ out of the chim chim god (only in redemption post game)

Also as a straight man Endrance was in my party 99% of the time in the ps2 days <3

Endrance isn't really gay. He has the same player as Elk from IMOQ who latched onto Mia who turns out to actually be Macha . After she disappears for obvious reasons Elk is crestfallen and develops abandonment issues. In GU he chooses to latch onto Haseo, not necessarily desiring poop chute antics.

I always preferred Alkaid too but being unconscious for 2/3 of the story makes it tough. That one pic in game with Haseo and Alkaid and Atoli pretty much summed up my feelings at the time.

Atoli seems annoying at first but after you find out she cuts she seems pretty metal.

I thought Shino was pretty good but yeah, surprising how little screen time most characters get. Endrance was an especially disturbing choice with how they made him.

Isn't Tabby a lesbian? Like the anime highly suggests that she is despite it making no cohesive sense like everything else in the anime. Like how Haseo could even gain an emotional attachment to anyone in the twilight brigade at all.

Honestly, Atoli would move up a whole lot more on my list if she was just written better in the first game. The first game really ruined any hope for me to actually think she is peak waifu.

Also I think Shino is the same with Ovan but their relationship (and the feelings Shino has for him) is genuine. That's why I never liked that b1tch since the first time I saw her in //roots, though I do understand this is no SAO bland mediocre harem. Still, all she talks about is Ovan this Ovan that. Do we even get an explanation for why she's so deep in for him besides the fact that they've met for some time? Legit curious.

Also why doing our homeboy Endrance like that bruv. I'm not gay but you gotta say it, dude's got the looks and the personality.

Atoli only cared about Sakaki (who by the way is a mf 10yo kiddo whilst Atoli is a 16yo ) cuz she thought he really cared about her feelings while listening to her. I'm pretty confident she had absolutely no romantic feelings whatsoever towards him, but she obviously still seemed to care about him until the end cuz he was an important person to her although their whole relationship was a deception made by Sakaki. It's pretty obvious the only person she's head over heels for is our big sigma mc Haseo.

Atoli is definitely on top, but man you nailed it in how miserable listening to some other guy is all the time.
And same for Shino. She'd be fun and a pleasure, but it's always chasing Ovan and something tells me she'd always keep secrets from you.
Tabby is great all around, but she gets really shafted in Roots. A shame she isn't more involved in the game. Otherwise the other two would be a memory.
