So you finally became a premium user of Team Fortress 2 and you've notice that in your Steam Library, you see something underneath it labeled Team Fortress 2 Beta. Or maybe you've been premium and you've finally decided to see what this Beta is all about. You know that the main game has dozens of unlockable weapons for every class but when you launch the Beta you realize that you virtually only have stock weapons. STOCK WEAPONS! Fireaxe? Bonesaw? Seriously, who uses that crap?!

Trying to get that Sandman? Maybe you got enough weapons to go for a cheap hat? Want to get a key so you can open that crate? Just asking for stuff hoping that somebody will give you something? Do you proceed to beg or ask for someone to trade like any of these?

This shot is a return of the first guy asking for an eyelander. Here's some advice for anybody looking to trade....

To the disappointment of some, you can not trade in Beta. Or to put it more accurately, you can't trade TF2 Beta items. Even if you initiated a trade in the Beta, it still links up to normal steam trading (where Beta items aren't present). There was a time when Beta still had the old TF2 trading system implemented, but that has since been removed. There is no known time as to when Beta trading will resume.

So again, it is IMPOSSIBLE to trade items in the Beta. Stop asking people for free stuff. Stop asking people to get weapons. Stop asking people to trade. Other players couldn't do so even if they obliged. Should the ability to trade Beta items be restored, I will note so in this guide. But you can't trade as it is. The only way to get items is by regular play time drops, achievements, gifts, etc.... But no trading.
