Abbreviations
Before we move too deep into this, there's a couple of abbreviations you may wind up seeing throughout this guide. Just in case you don't already know what these are, here they are ahead of time:

CDR = Cool down reduction

IDR = Item drop rate

SCR = Skill Cost Reduction

MSQ = Main Story Quest
Reset and Fatigue
When is Reset?

Reset is weekly at the following time
Tuesday @ 6 AM (UTC) (GMT +0) | Monday 10 PM (PST) | Tuesdays 1 AM (EST)

How or what is the Fatigue system and how does it work?

Well, to start, there are 2 different types of Fatigue that should be looked at here. They are Character Fatigue and Account Fatigue.

Character Fatigue starts out at 170 at the time of creation for each character and will increase by 170 per day at reset. Character Fatigue will cap out at 1190 total (per character). Generally, Fatigue will be consumed at a rate of 10 per dungeon entry, but there are a few that will consume 5 per entry.

Account Fatigue starts at creation of your first character and will be increased by 170 per day till it caps out at 2380. Account Fatigue is consumed at equal rates to Character Fatigue.

How do I recover Fatigue?

While leveling, your level-up box will award (Energy Elixir I), which will recover 30 Fatigue of both types on a single character. These are able to be put into account storage, so they can easily be moved between characters if needed.

Subscribing to Elite status will provide a potion that recovers 60 Fatigue per day.
Subscribing to Platinum Elite status will provide a potion that recovers 100 Fatigue per day.

Some quest bonuses will also reward you with a (Pep 11 potion) which recovers 11 Fatigue.
Equipment and Damage
Psi/Physical damage: Who uses what?

Psi damge users : Lancer(Misteltein), Caster(Slyvi), Witch(Levia)
Physical damage users: Striker(Seha), Fighter(J)
Mixed damage : Ranger(Yuri)

Weapon Cores / Modules / Trinkets / Receivers (Lv. 55+)

Weapon Cores ( Main Offence modifier)
Weapon Cores are the main contributer of your damage. It will affect your attack speed (hammer vs sword vs staff for example) and provide other benefits such as crit damage, crit rate, or on hit effects. Everybody can equip all weapon cores and there is no right answer for any one until you start hitting endgame levels, such as Planar Gate.

Modules (Offence upgrades)
Modules come in 3 flavors, which are Hybrid damage, Physical only, and Psi only. These are additions to your weapon core's benefits and up to 3 can be equipped, except in the case of unique items, which only 1 can be inserted of that item name.

While generally there no right answers about what is definitively better until you start getting some item sets, make sure that your modules' damage type is the same or as close as possible to the type that your character does. I.E. You wouldn't want Psi modules on a Physical character. The above mentioned item sets can appear as early on as the High School stages.

Trinkets (Defense Upgrades)
Trinkets come in 3 flavors, which are Psi Defense, Physical Defense, and HP Pool. Up to 6 of these can be equipped. These are your "armor items", and provide all of the defense where your armor normally would. While leveling, its a good idea to maintain a balance of 3 physical and 3 psi defense trinkets*. At about the high school area, HP trinkets start having decent amount of mixed defense, making them a bit more viable depending on your playstyle.

* Due to Fighter (J) passive [Health Freak], having HP trinkets is something to consider heavly in early game, since [Health Freak] causes 3% of his total HP to be added to his Attack Power, and 5% to be added to both Physical and Psi defense.

REEEEEceivers

Receivers are a hidden slot that opens up once you finish its quest line in the International Airport (Lv. 55+)
Receivers come in 3 flavors: Chase damage, Back attack damage, and Air strike damage. These modify the bonuses of the mentioned damage type and are generally picked based on your play style. (Personally I find Air Attack to be the best, as it's the easiest one to do effectively and consistently.)

Wait...Chase, Back attack, and Air Strike? Let me clarify a bit on what these actually are:

Chase damage is added to your attack when you launch a target into the air and/or follow it as it moves.
Back attack is added to your attacks when you hit the target's back.
Air strike is added to your attacks when you are in the air.
Yes, you can do all 3 at once. Juggling enemies in the air is a skill all characters need to do in order to be effective, so much so that some characters live or die based on how well you can keep the juggle going [Witch/Striker].

What are Titles?

Titles can be found at the bottom of your equipment screen and most are cosmetic. Agent promotion ones (such as Novice Agent and Offical Agent) have stats on them. Requirements for titles can be found in game when you mouse over the title.

Novice Agent: +25 Psi/Phy damage, +3% Psi/Phy Crit rate
Offical Agent: +50 Psi/Phy, 6% Psi/Phy Crit rate
Pet Lover: CDR 3%, Movespd 4%, SCR 3%, IDR 5%
Explorer : 2% xp
Ace Explorer: 5% CDR, 5% Movespd, 10% xp
Gardener: 2% IDR
Epic Gardener: 5% CDR, 5% Movespd, 10% IDR
Crew Activity Leader: 1200 HP, 4% Movespd, 4% Atkspd

And there are still quite a few more, but these are just the ones that I know of so far.

Phase Nucleic Acid (55+)
Phase Nucleic Acid, or PNA, is Closers version of unlimited leveling. Each unlocked slot adds SP to that character and PNA level is character specific.

PNA comes in 3 flavors: Offence [Damage], Defence [psi/physical/HP], and Utility [MP/Cooldown Reduction/Skill Cost Reduction/Empowered].
As this is a beginner FAQ (and i havent generally played with it much either since I'm currently LV.8 PNA), I wont delve into it much more then this right now, but probably will in a later guide.
Please see below for PNA Information
Costumes and Tuning [wip]
Under construction ♥
PNA
PNA

PNA allows you to futher customize your character by slotting PNA into the slots shown in the middle. You can slot up to 6 Arranged Genes, 2 Combined Genes, and 2 Mutated Genes.

PNA has level requirements and different "strains" from Offensive to Ultility.

PNA can be upgraded to the next teir of rarity using PNA Pills (salvaged PNA) and gold.

1: PNA Pill
PNA Pills are aquired whenever you "trash" PNA you dont want or need. You must do this from the PNA window and not from your inventory.

2: PNA limit
There is a PNA Limit on how much you can store, i have 76 PNA so i can carry an additional 923 PNA before hitting cap. Personally i salvage any PNA i know ill never use or upgrade

3: Save Page
PNA does not apply to your character unless you save the page

4: Restore
If you decide to move a PNA off the chart and move it back, unless you save, you will receive a notification that your PNA page was changed and to either revert the changes using restore or to save the page again for the new changes.

5: Page Analysis
Converts all 3 pages of PNA into a simple table of what bonus stats you are receiving as shown below

6: Empty
Ejects all PNA from your page, does not delete them
Housing and Gardening
What is Housing/Gardening?

Housing is a solo player instance where you can pose/idle your other characters. Its main draw is the exploration and gardening system. Everyday you can perform explorations based on housing level using your Pets and Characters. Housing items are cosmetics which can be bought with both ingame gold, Crafted, and purchased with EMP, which is this game's cash shop currency. When your housing level increases your gain an increase to your max account fatigue.

Exploration in depth

Each mission awards Housing Exp, Character Xp and a small ingame currency reward. You must assign 1 Closer and up to 3 pets to complete an exploration.
Each Missions' success and Additonal item success is based on the combined levels of the 3 pets and the Closer.
Generally, overqualifying an exploration by twice its level requirement nets you 100% of both success and additional item success, and will gain you additonal rewards.

Example:

Raising Squad level:

Because of my maid, this mission's level is 1, therefore I have already met double the level requirement to get max rewards without any pets.

However, compared to Mephisto:

His required squad level is 170

My poor caster can't do it alone, so now we add pets to help out

Not even with pets do I reach the required level for a 100% reward but I can still send them on it for a chance to come back with the reward!

Gardening in depth
Each plant has its own growth time. Growth level is completely RNG, unfortunately. Rewards are based on what you are growing though, so you can at least control that much!
Each successful harvest will net Housing XP.

Social
Where is everybody?

This game has an overwhelming amount of channels! By default, when you log in you will most likely go to a random channel between 1 and 75* (the text written on it is a level recomendation, not the channel number). Generally most people stick to the first 5 channels if you are looking for people to chat with.
*This is for NA, im not sure how many channels EU servers have
Update Jan 9th: Channel range is now 1-45

Where are the guilds?

Guilds are known as Crews in Closers and can be created once a character reaches 25 and is in Guro station (Act 2).

There are several benefits for joining guilds, both per zone and for the guild as a whole. However, keep in mind that the best ones are limited by the guilds level and "crew house" clickables. At rank 1, a crew will have access to a global 2% XP increase to all zones that can be leveled per zone by reputation. Rep is earned by the crew members doing specific missions that are refreshed daily (with 1 weekly version).

Long story short: Do the selected mission. Get +rep. After doing it for a while, you'll get a higher XP increase in that specific zone.

Crew house buffs*(1) are generally time limited (most lasting for up to 3hours), and are (generally*(2/3)) permanent additons to the crew.

*1 Access to higher teir houses to have more buffs available must be repurchased every 15days [Rank 7 house every 7days]
*2 Access to the player market must be repurchased every 15days.
*3 Access to the birthday food buff must be repurchased every 15 days.

Why doesnt anybody ever use Local chat?

Local chat, Party chat, Pm's and Crew chat are all in the same window that shows what items you have picked up recently.

What is the chat with channels in it?

That is Server chat and costs 50 EMP* for 1 use, or 6 uses for 250 (in the EMP store)
*10 EMP version of this item Broadcasts your message to only the channel you're on
Special OPS and Dailies
What is this Dimensonal Dopplegangers notification that keeps appearing?

Dimensional Doppelgangers is a Special OPS that opens bi-hourly that awards XP and items within certain level brackets (27~34, 35~44 45~51 52~62 63~65).
You can only enter a Dimensional Doppelgangers event 3 times per day, even though they have no Fatigue cost.

*? = Need verification, I surpassed these brackets without noting them down

There are other Special Ops you will aquire access to as you level up:

Mop-Up Operation: Wave based protect the objective, no penalty of player death, Destruction of the tower is game over. Item rewards, No XP (3x Daily)

Skyscraper Battle: Wave based, heavy mechanics rush, kill all monsters to proceed, no penalty of player death. Item rewards, No XP (3x Daily)

Andras Operation: 4 Sub bosses protect the big boss in middle of the map, Map cycles from Top left, Bottom left, Top Right, Bottom Right, no penalty of death. Item reward, No XP (3x Daily)

Hall Of Dragons: Wave based survival, player death is game over. Really Difficult! Item rewards based on wave count No XP (1 Daily)
Premium buffs
What are Premium buffs?

Elite status is the form of membership for this game, it can be bought for 1490 EMP for 30days. It can be found under the "Item" tab and "Premium" in game. It is also included with founders packs as well! However, keep in mind that Founders Packs stop being sold on January 2nd, 2018. So if you want one from there, you better get it fast!

Platinum status is a upgraded Elite status that is automatically acquired if you have over 90 days of Elite status. The Maid and Fairy upgrade to Elite status after 30days, however.

Side note: Bonus entrys do not stack if you have special ops support and Elite status. You only get +1 entry, not +2.

Maid benefits

Fairy Benefits
Witch [Levia] special note
Levia, being a member of the Wolf Dogs, has a different story from the main cast.

The main characters are all members of the Black Lambs, and Levia's story will contain story spoliers for the Black Lambs team members.

Levia is level capped at 60 (everyone else can level to 65).

Levia can not get founder pack costumes.
Tips and Tricks
Push "X" while in dialogue to skip it if you get tired of reading it like I do!

Push Space to accept quest rewards instead of clicking of them individually.

Push Esc to skip reward popups and animations for Explorations and Gardening rewards.

Pushing forward to a new area forces all loot from the previous area to appear at your feet if uncollected, regardless of zone transition (Kinda like dashing into the sun on some Zone Clear dialogues).

Side quests are always at the Mission or 1 Mission away from your current Mission in MSQ. Generally, you should do all quests you find! (Repeatables, or daily quests, don't appear until Han High School. Daily quests in Guro are mainly for Special Ops completions.)

Try not to level skills above 10 for Trainee rank, skill costs are generally not worth it while leveling
Novice Agent rank...stick to level 3 skills for maximum efficiency, in my opinion.

Upgrading gear isn't mandatory in order to progress through MSQ. I kept my weapon core between 7 and 9, and kept the gear at whatever enhancement level it was when I looted it. Same thing applies for tuning as well. These are mostly endgame things to do to gear when you don't think you'll be regularly upgrading anymore. Don't worry about it while leveling, you'll find something better within 5 levels, usually.

After MSQ makes you leave an area, go back and make sure every mission [Recon,Patrol,Skirmish and later on, Assault] is done at least once for zone completion rewards! You can claim the box at 30,50,70 and 100% completion. [Virtual Zones count as well!]

A lot of outfits you find in zone completion rewards are on timers, such as 24 hours, 3 days, and 7 days. After this time period, they fade off, so use them while you can for a free extra boost! However, bear in mind that you can not tune them or salvage them...

Grey [Normal] quality materials are generally a quest turn-in. You can safely toss them after you've left that zone in order to free up some space! They are able to be sold to NPCs, but the money you earn from it is rather miniscule...

Account storage is your best friend when you have alts (other characters)! Share your gear boosters, potions, and money...basically anything that isn't character bound!

Costumes that are found belonging to another Closer can be put into account storage or sold on the black market. However, this is only so long as they are not bound. Once they're bound, they're restricted to that character only!

When you get a consumable item called "Silver/Gold Alien Coin" [shown below] and "Bronze/Silver/Gold Statue", right click it! They are free gold and dont need to be saved for any reason unless you just like using a bunch at once!

Strength potions are the most common drop off all elite monsters. Feel free to pop them whenever you feel like since they literally drop like candy! (I have over 900 of them on my main and I've been drinking them each time i find an elite or on a boss...they won't go away!!!)

The UNION reward called "Lucky Phase Token" can be turned into a bonus skill when your character is above Lv 30. You require 30 of them in order to craft it into the usable item, and you only need to do it once! You can find it under "UNION Watch" so fully complete your union watch quests everyday! Or, if you really don't like grinding, it is available from the cash shop, but who likes taking the shortcut, am I right?! Guys?... ..guys?...

Nice guide, you only fail to tell which npc to talk to to start a crew.

New to the game, I did the campaign but not yet finished it completely. Is there anything else to do besides the campaign, getting better equipment and stats? Like anything multiplayer? PvP excluded. Sorry for my braindead question.

You might want to include a short explanation in the "Equipment and Damage" section about how Super Armor Crashing works. Most people have no idea what it is and how it works and considering how it can be used to bypass boss mechanics or make the game overall a lot easier it deserves a mention imo.

Go to your housing>exploration and find one where you send character you're currently playing you should be able to cancel it. I don't recommend canceling explorations tho.
