The story takes place in a fictional version of the Edo era in Japan. A girl, Fuu, searches for the samurai who smells sunflower and is accompanied by two original individuals, Mugen the extravagant, former pirate became a vagabond, and Jin the samurai (rōnin) impassive, following a bet that she "won" against the last two who were going to kill each other.
