How to get Sir Radzig's Sword and Keep it! (Patched / Becomes Needle)
By dr46onfusion
A very easy glitch to keep the sword before the game removes it!

Step 1: Reach the dream sequence
This happens right after you get knocked out by Runt.

When you are within the Dream sequence you can progress like normal, but instead of walking up to your parent's body, walk around and head to your home, there will be a container as this map is simply the same 'ruined Skalitz' map but re-shaded differently to look like a new area.

Step 2: Drop the weapon into container
Because the game somehow arms you with the sword, but not as a 'Quest' item anymore, but a regular weapon, you can now transfer this sword to any containers, resulting in you being able to avoid having it removed from the game at all!

Put it into the container!

Step 3: Finish Dream Sequence, and Retrieve sword!
Finish this sequence and wake up in Rattay, then make your way back to Skalitz and pick up your goods in your home's chest!

Congradulations! You have now gotten a weapon that is cool looking but overshadowed and outclassed by other ingame weapons!

Needle is not Sir Radzig's sword, it is just a sword you picked up from one of the bandits you kill in the prologue. Sometimes you get needle, sometimes another sword, other times just junk.

No idea as I stopped playing the game.

But yeah they might have used a extra line of code to 'change' the sword when you dump it into the storage container.

It is only in the dream sequence that Sir Radzig's sword stop being a quest item, though it might be possible for you to loot Needle from some of the NPCs and enemies in the intro like the Cumen.

You could find one on the Bandits in the mill if you jump the wall during "Run!" Questline, I'm making a guide on that from my leftover screenshots just in case people asked.

Hello, I tried to do this one recently but instead of having Sir Radzig's Sword, the weapon was Needle. Do you think this was fixed on the later versions? I'm playing at v1.4.2 as of now.

I have a way to jump a wall that isn't blocked by a invisible wall at the start of 'Run!' questline, when you reach and go past theresa's house, don't bother whistling and mount the horse of your choice, then sneak away down river to where you are suppose to trigger a cutscene, but before you touch that, look across the river and find walled off area with waterwheels, and jump the wall there. My screenshot of the map shows where it is.

interesting. Thanks for the guide, some people like seeing what they can to in game without editing .ini's and such and this info should help

You can also change the value of it in the weapons.xml file like very other weapon?

Actually it's damage value isn't bad but it's not great either, 45 + 150% at maxed levels does make it underwhelming but most enemies die in 1-3 hits anyways if they are unarmored and armored enemies parries a lot.

you can get a mod from nexus that makes it not shit

it's the same container you used that has theresa's nail in it, the exact same layout unless you are awful at navigating the town blind (if you spend some time in the prologue gathering herbs and haggling items and knocking out and stealing and lockpicking stuff you'll get used to the area).
