Introduction
So, as you know, in Steno Arcade,
you type lyrics of songs and apparently
it actually has Steno keyboard compatibility.
The game comes with a bunch of songs, but, have
you ever thought of adding your own? I actually
for once almost saw a workshop thing but I might
have dreamed about it. While there might not be
a workshop feature in place, there is a way to
make custom songs for the game.

The main file structure of the songs aren't as
complicated as you think. They're actually pretty
easy to edit. So let's jump right into how song
making in Steno Arcade works.
Files
The songs only have to consist of three things and that is:

LRC - main file for lyrics and metadata

OGG - audio track for song

JPG/PNG - image for song
Metadata
The metadata is comparable to a Stepmania file, you know you got the
whole title, artist, audio file, stuff like that:

ti = Title
ar = Artist
al = Album
art = Image/Cover
la = Language
length = Duration
dif = Difficulty
relyear = Year of Song
file = Audio Track

If the difficulty is above 5, it will be
in a new category but still labeled "VERY HARD."
Lyric Info
Telling from how the lyric info is written, this
could result in days of work just to make one song,
but hopefully it will be worth it if someone plays it or
gets a high score on it or something like that. Other than
that, it's kind of easy to determine where lyrics should go
using Audacity to check for where the words are. So here's
the main info for mapping lyrics in a Steno Arcade song:

Timing key:

00:00.00

 |     |     |
V    V   V

mn:sc.ms

Types of timing:

[00:00.00] = New line of lyrics

<00:00.00> = Time of new word in lyric line

{00:00.00} = Breaking point (if there's no new line right after)

Sometimes it's not completely necessary to have blank 0s in the timings
(like if the song hasn't reached a minute yet), but it's kind of recommended
to keep it added if you want to make your LRC look nice and not sloppy.
Example Song
Now to set an example for making a song, here's what it would look
like if you made a Steno Arcade song for Short Attention Span by
Fizzy Bangers, which is also a song from the Season 5 promo of Ed, Edd n Eddy:

[ti:Short Attention Span]
[ar:Fizzy Bangers]
[al:Short Songs for Short People]
[art: Art/Short Attention Span.jpg]
[la:EN]
[length: 00:07.42]
[dif: 8]
[relyear: 1999]
[file: Audio/Short Attention Span.ogg]

[00:00.17]Why <00:00.45>can't <00:00.69>people <00:01.11>understand
[00:01.88]I <00:01.96>got <00:02.30>a <00:02.41>short <00:02.61>attention <00:03.14>span
[00:03.64]Short <00:04.28>attention <00:05.43>span

And finally, here's a video of it working in action:

Conclusion
So, that's how a song is made in Steno Arcade.
If this tutorial helped you, leave a thumbs up.
Maybe a board/forum will open up where you can
submit your own. We'll just have to find out.

Bye! :D

There's actually a tool to make Steno Arcade songs called Wavelyric:
