Updated ship to version 1.1. Update changes listed below.

The GigaCore-EX2 is an experimental CV much like the Manticore-EX1 was. This ship however is a completely new concept. The starting idea was to build a “Drop Ship”, a ship designed for vertical takeoff straight to space. As in working with this original idea, I decided to also make it function as normal CV as well. Feature wise this ship has many bells and whistles. I broke down some of the many features below.

Survival Co-op Mobile Fortress: What this means it is almost like a large fortified player base when parked on a planet or even in space. 360 degree heavy defense, protected and redundant critical systems, all survival comforts, and coop play. Unlike the past CV’s I made, this one has 2 hangar side crafting areas with small HV loader direct access via 4 loading bays, 2 per side. With coop options, Each player (up to 4) will have their own quarters, HV bay, constructors, storage, pilot seat, and farm. With that being said, 2 players also works ideally. Also, it’s a great fit the eccentric single player.

HV/SV Carrier: The ship is designed to hold a large amount of HV/SV’s. It has 6 upper landing pads, 4 small utility HV bays, and a massive all purpose pass thru hangar. The landing pad “Flight Deck” area has a control tower in which a player can direct ships to a particular landing pad using switches to light it up. (Pads 1-6). With the Heavy Lift option enabled, it will have no problem taking off no matter how many HV/SV’s are docked.

Heavy Lift “Drop ship” concept: To best describe this you would have to think of the “Command Center” in the Star Craft games. A base that can take off and move to another location. To accomplish this, the ship has 4 large thrusters pods in the corners. These are connected to ship via diagonal access hallways and strut mounts. Each thruster pod has fuel, generators, RCS, and of course a whole lot of thrusters. The ship has a standard flight mode, and a heavy lift mode. Heavy lift kicks on more thrusters for faster speeds in all directions but a huge boost vertically. This allows this ship to be fully loaded with an excessive amount of HV/SV’s to take off quickly to space.

Farm: It has 2 farm areas each equal in sized divided into 3 sub plots totaling 126 grow plots. These areas also have fridges and cooking stations as well as places to sit and enjoy watching your plants grow.

Loader: This was brought up a bit already. The ship was designed for using HV’s as storage with 4 automatic side bays to directly drive a small sized HV into the crafting area.

Other features:

Lighting: The entire ship makes use of motion sensors for nearby lighting, only lighting what is in the room or the immediate area. The benefits of doing this allow for much more lights to be placed without game performance issues resulting in a better looking environment. At night this allows navigating this entire ship without the use of a flash light as you should be able to see everything clearly.

Bridge area: This is another large change from my previous CV’s. The bridge has 2 decks as well as a medical bay, flight deck control room, ship controls, and an inverted front window + active controls heads up display. I guess you will just have to see what this means yourself. I made this very easy to control and understand with any needed information in the ship itself.

Crew quarters: This ship has 4 separate crew rooms. 2 of them are the senior officer rooms, two are more basic/smaller.

Ship lounge: Not much to say here, but it’s happy hour 24/7 😊

Stairs and elevators: Breaking away from my other CV’s with the exception of the Carapace-C2, this ship is 100% accessible never stepping in an elevator as some have expressed how they don’t like current in game elevators. The ship still does have two central elevators to provide a short cut getting around but are not needed to access any place on the ship.

Features summary:

1. Two hangar side crafting areas each with direct utility HV support and 6 constuctors.
2. 6 landing pads, 4 HV loading bays, massive hangar, and enough lift power to easily take off fully loaded.
Also featuring a landing pad flight controller feature.
3. Two farm areas totaling 126 grow plots
4. Four crew quarters rooms
5. Medical Bay
6. Lounge
7. Double decker bridge with heads up (on/off) displays for important ship information settings.
8. Fit for up to 4 player coop.
9. A large amount of external and internal defense
10. Enhanced lighting fully using motion sensors
11. Entire ship accessible without using elevators however there are 2 central elevators as well.

Note: The ship (original) I built vs the saved version have some differences in texture alignment with the base texture, the smooth metal with line patterns. The original version of the ship that all the screen shots were taken from, I aligned this semi random texture up so most of the lines would line up correctly or be removed so you didn't have jagged lines all over seeming going nowhere. However, when saving the ship and re-spawning, the alignment goes crazy and it is all messed up again. I tried a test and started aligning an area of the spawned ship, saved it again, and re-spawned it and the texture went crazy again. It appears using that texture, it does not save the alignment properly. Its a minor nit picky issue that it appears I cannot correct. Just FYI.

Update 1.1 Changes:

1. Rebuilt and expanded the warp core area.
- Thrusters are no longer blocked at all.
- Players will no longer have heat/radiation issues walking in the room.

2. Fixed o2 issue with 2 of the crew quarters rooms. They now have o2.

3. 4/1/18 Minor update: Removed 2 Sentry guns in the bridge area. The ship had 10 which was
causing issues for some players. It was reduced to 8 total now which
should fix any spawning problem people were having.

4. New 4/2/18: Removed 1 plasma turret and replaced with minigun turret. The 5th plasma turret
was causing issues for people to spawn ship in game. Also I updated the ship stats screens
reflecting any changes made and moved those screen shots to end of the list.

5. Fixed B elevator missing elevator block.

I remember when spicygaming showed this off, i miss those times. When we were a small group of builders that all knew each other very well, building together when the game was nice and simple. I still love this beast! Also yes i'm reminiscing over your workshop haha, all these builds that i fell in love with... Good times man, good times :)

I live this ship, but you can't move downwards in it, Needed to add CPU Extensions and Engines to even make it movable since the game updated.
Added 4 Engines pointing Down for it to work

Awsome ship but there is an issue with the O2. The Problem are the large stairs to the Farms you just need to replace them with small stairs and put a Large block that fixed the problem

Have a issue with O2 and temps in the ship. Hanger and 2 side rooms with Plants are not airtight but other rooms are airtight. It probably Due to a update in the game not sure if anyone this issue.
