Welcome and notes
Welcome to this guide on the NEW parkitect night mode. Parkitect beta 5 added a cool feature where lights turn on when the game gets dark or if it rains. This how to goes into how to theme and edit your rides and themed areas to create a 24-7 thrill park.

BE AWARE THAT THE PARKITECT CHEAT MOD IN THE WORKSHOP DISABLES NIGHT MODE. NIGHT MODE ONLY WORKS WITH THIS MOD TURNED OFF.
enabling night mode
Night mode can be enabled with a toggle. Find the sun in the bottom left corner and click it. Be aware that the game has to be on play mode (1x speed) for this to work. the lights also turn on when it rains, that comes every couple of game months.
Rides that have lights
most rides in the game now light up in the dark. these rides have programed paterns and colours that are unchangeble as of now. the devs don't have enough time to do them all but as of beta 5 the rides that light up include.

Wipeout
Topspin (only when the ride is in motion)
Launched drop tower
Car ride
Mine Train Coaster
Spiral Slide
Turbine
Jumper
Wave Swinger

4D cinema
Enterprise
Haunted house (only when the ride is in motion)
Skyfall
carousel
twister
Motion Sim
Double Ferris Wheel
Inverted double swing
And all transport rides

Deco that lights up
Your parks need some lighting? In the deco tab under props, lighting there is loads of wall and ground light items to choose from including spotlights and lanterns, or you could build path lights in the path attachments tab under lamps. Also in the fences tab is stringlights and lantern strings. Each lamp has a different glow eg fantasy orb lamp glows yellow and spooky lamp glows purple.
Tips
  • make sure that you place lights every other path space to keep your park lit
  • vandalised objects are harder to see at night. consider zoning areas with lamps.
  • guests also like well themed rides, use this to your advantage.
  • remember to use spotlights to light up large theming objects

  • pumpkins fire, water, most spooky items and spooky trees all glow in the dark
  • ride lights are just for show and don't change the exitement of rides
  • floating lights can only be built on water
