Comms Guide
For comms to helps a team that wants to play in a squad.
The following is a simple guide to help with some common comms terms
  • When alive, use right hand to left shoulder over radio and press trigger (assume right handed, swap if you have swapped hands)
  • When down, left hand on radio (touching) of body and trigger
  • Look at your wrist to get bearing number

The following are terms used in comms to immediately give some information

Copy-you heard an instruction or comment but will not act anything specifically (eg if something was said fyi)

Roger-you copy the instrution and will act

Ambush-stay in position and let the enemy come to you-get in position for an ambush

Move Out (Advance)- head forward checking cover and careful

Charge-move out agressively

Flank-move behind enemy to attack from the rear

check the six-check your flank (behind you)

Scout-one member go causiously in front to get eyes on and report back to team without engaging

Engaging-yell out they you are fired upon or firing upon target

Friendly at... : tell team mates when you are moving to their left or right so you dont get friendly fire

Hostile at ....:inform team mates where a hostile is at

Retreat:..head backwards and find cover

Eyes on:...:inform team you can see an enemy

Grenade out: you have just thrown a grenade

Grenade incoming: enemy thrown grenade towards team

Reload:tell team you are reloading so someone covers you

Supressing Fire:instruct someone to cover you by blind firing

Breech-enemy has got through your perimeter and is in a dangerous position

Incoming-enemy is advancing on your position

SitRep-situation report, assess the situation and make a plan of attack

Take Cover-find something to give you cover/protection

'Going Combat Hot' or 'entering zone of action'-entering area of active combat/expect to be in active engagement

Head To Bird/...Helo-head to the helicopter

Hostile Burnt-...enemy is dead/down

Tango Mike:...-say thankyou

Moonbeam on-turn on flashlight

From someone who has done RTO in the field and TOC ops; this is not accurate military radio etiquette. Its nice that you're trying to get squeaker comms organized though.

Some are correct.. Some mean different things in different scenarios.. some are incorrect.

A lot of this is accurate, but typically instead of "Hostile at..." you would say "Enemy contact bearing..." and there are a couple variations depending on circumstance, like "3 times enemy contact East" for 3 enemies spotted East of your position. The idea is just to be quick and precise with what you say.
