For this section I´d like to make clear that I´m using a XBOX 360 controller as reference. Since the 360 Controllers are an obvious choice when it comes to playing with a controller on PC. If you do not have a 360 Controller, a different brand, use Arcade sticks, Hitbox or even keyboard to play BBTAG then don´t worry since it doesn´t really matter. The only thing that matters is that you know what each button does on each of your respected peripheral. Without further delay let´s begin with movement and notation.

Why did I create this section you might ask. For people that played fighting games for a longer peroid of time might find this section boring since they´ve been around long enough when I talk about notations. Notations are essential tools that not only help you to write down Combos faster but it also makes it easier to understand Combo videos as well since many have the input history on the screen. As you might as well have noticed, yes notations are nothing else than your input history or in this case what you´re supposed to input to do a tricky combo or for the combo to have an Distortion Drive at the very end. If you have never seen a notation then take a look at Ragna´s 2nd tactics combo

To be honest with you writting it down like I showcased you earlier is way more efficient since it takes less time. To know how to write it down let´s look at each element in this combo. First of all I´m going over the numbers since those represent the movement ingame.


This is what a directions look like as numbers. Remember this guide is always from the default P1 point of view. Which means that P1 is always on the left side facing the right side where P2 stands. Let´s go over this then. so your crouching will always be 2, doesn´t matter what direction you are facing. Your jumping will also be always 8 regardless of what direction your character is facing. Since we are in P1 POV 6 is your forward and 4 is your backwards. The N in the middle on the Directions tab represents no direction (5), also called Neutral.

Now that we have movement out of the way let´s concentrate on Attack, Assist and the Partner buttons. BBTAG is set to be a 5 button fighter which means you have all of the front facing buttons and the R1 button at the back (Top right button). It is possible to set shortcuts for the certain button combinations or map each button to a different button. But first let´s go over what button´s we have.


















As you can see I´ve colored the X Y B A and R1 button to make it easier for you to distinguish each button that we have in CTB. It´s actually really easier to see what button is for what attack really but you might forget your buttons when first launching any fighting game. I´m also referring the buttons to an actual 360 controller and not to the ingame buttons since that would be confusing.

• A Button - The A button is your Pink X button
  The X button mostly resembles a fast attack which you can utilize in pressure. The A button also has a Auto combo which can be pressed 4 times. An auto combo can also be applied on pressure but you got to know when to stop pressing X since most of the time the 4th and last hit could be unsafe and you might end up in an a counter combo from your opponent.
  
  
• Y Button - The B button is your Green Y button
  The Y button can also be used as a pressure tool though that differs from character to character.
  X and Y can be mixed in pressure and just like X you can use the Y auto combo 4 times. The 4th hit is also probably an unsafe hit on block which means you also have to know when to stop pressing Y in your autocombo pressure. The Y button also functions as an antiair which has head invul. But we´ll get on that later
  
  
• B Button - The B button is the Red B button
  Your B also known as Clash does what the name says clash. Clashing in CTB means that it gives you an opportunity to deal damage that normally is only possible to reach with a Distortion Drive or a combo. Also the B is and overhead that can be utilized at the end of your pressure string. You need to block it High and you´ll also see an aura around a character using a Clash.
  The B button is also used for EX moves. EX moves are most of the time enhanced moves of your 214X/Y or 236X/Y normals. You can combo of those moves most of the time when used right.
  The B button can also Knockdown your opponent which opens up more combo routs which is helpful to reach more damaging combos.
  
  
• A Button - The A button is your Blue button
  The A button is for changing your character in battle. You´re only able to change your character when standing still and not in attack. Though it´s not safe doing so when standing next to your opponent since they can punish the character that your are switching in. Using A as switching out your characters does also not consume your blue gauge which has two bars that are manly used for Cross Bursts or Crosscombos, Dragon Punch or Assists but more on that later.. Crossbursting consumes 2 bars which means that you won´t be able to Crossburst when being comboed.
  
  
• R1 Button - The R1 button is your yellow button
  The R1 button mostly used to call in your second character for combo extensions, pressure, Dragon Punch or a Crosscombo. R1 also has many different assists that can not be used when being comboed. There is a 4/5/6 Assist. Depending on how you want to use your combos and where your fight is, either in corner or the mid screen. But watch out since your assist can be attacked for a short amount of time. You´ll see what character you´re controlling and what character is your assist depending on the aura around them. Pressing the R1 button consumes one bar of the blue gauge. Calling in and calling in your second character and pressing A upon that while your second character is still onscreen let´s you switch characters. Combinations

Now that we have covered movement I´d like to cover certain terms that not only BBTAG has but are essential terms used in fighting games in general.
BBTAG is a simplified version of the original BlazBlue series and does not have that many directional inputs or mechanics that you find in the other installments of BlazBlue. Though that being said there are still mechanics that still remain and are in the game.

This is the easiest yet longest Episode as there are 3 endings

For this ending you will need to tell Gordeau in chapter 2 that rachel -always has a plan- in the dialogue options. Next time in chapter 5 with nu you will need to tell her you -was looking for rachel- . Then with chapter 7 dont trust hazama as u will get the 3rd ending

There is a chapter were u fight with hazama this will rule all other endings if you take the option to trust him


Episode: P4A
This achievement is pretty easy. All you have to do is complete the Episode and defeat the boss

This achievement is pretty easy. All you have to do is complete the Episode and defeat the boss

Azure of Truth
after completing all other episodes and blazblue's 3 endings you will need to go through the blazblue episode again but this time your will get dialogue options after winning against Ruby, Yu and Hyde. You have to trust them all to get this achievement as long as you dont trust Hazama in chapter 7. At the final boss you will be given the choice of letting Ruby, Chie or Hyde fight with you. then you will be given the achievement

A Valuable Victory
Won in a ranked lobby
This achievemt is easy all you have to do is get a friend or a player in a ranked lobby and win the match

This achievement can be a pain but the easist way to do it is with Yukiko with max stacks and in resonance blaze doing her 236B+C ( we found this when my sh*t friend flatten the floor with it )

When you perform a crush assault you need to time it so that you press C when the word "crush" appears on the screen to achieve a marvelous crush assault


Symbol of Trust
Performed Cross Finish 10 times.
while you have your assisted teammate out by pressing P right after press P+D and they will stay out for longer allowing cross combos. if you manage to finish your opponent with a distortion during that time you will achieve a cross finish.






Even then, I have friends I want to protect
Performed Cross Combo 10 times.
This is where you kill the enemy with a distortion drive which is extended by pressing P, leading to your partner finishing the job with another distortion. That requires 4 meter.

Performed Resonance Finish 10 times.
when you teammate is down you you can enter resonance blaze by pressing P. if you manage to finish the opponent while in resonance blaze you will achieve a resonance finish.

...An extraordinary rejection
use Reject Guard 10 times
whenever you press A+D during a block you will perform a reject guard. do that 10 times in order to get the achievement.
