I picked these contributers because they are some of the people who have played The Gorge with me and helped me find out some of the recipes and tips for winning!

The basic idea of the story is this:


You have escaped the Forge through a portal and ended up in this strange area, You are shot through the portal to the ''base" of the area with blank cooking stations and empty farm plots. You meet Mumsy, the mother goat and she tells you how you must cook for the gnaw to survive against it's plauge. She gives you 10 "old coins" to spend on items in the NPC stores and that's where it all begins

Like explained before, You must cook dishes to feed the Gnaw and keep it's bar from reaching the end. There are many different "cravings" the Gnaw will ask for such as Veggie, Snack, Pasta, Soup, Dessert, etc. You can also collect different types of coins and such to buy different tier items, They don't have labelled tiers but most late game dishes (such as when you get goat milk and use it, later explained in the guide) with give you better rewards!

Cravings are the thing that the Gnaw craves to eat, If you get the correct craving you can get better rewards such as higher tier coins! (Like I explained before, there are no labelled tiers on items). Mumsy (the mother goat) will every now and then tell you the required craving that suits the moment so you better listen to Mumsy! Soz this part was short but there isn't much else to explain about the Gnaw's Cravings

Old Coins = Lowest Tier
Desc: Old Coins are used to buy most items from NPC shops. The most useful items you can buy with them are:

Sml Cookpot Kit: 6 Old Coins


Sml Oven Kit: 6 Old Coins


Sml Grill Kit: 6 Old Coins


Fishing Rod: 3 Old Coins


Trap (For rabbits): 4 Old Coins.


Sapphire Medallions = Second Lowest Tier
Desc: Sapphire Medallions aren't used to buy too many items, These are the best to buy:


Iron Key: 1 Sapphire Medallion

Silver Plate or Bowl: 2 Sapphire Medallions


Red Marks = Second Highest Tier
Desc: Red Marks aren't used to buy hardly anything, But what you can get are GREAT items!


Goat Milk: 1 Red Mark


Butcher Tools: 1 Red Mark


Crab Trap (For catching stone/ rock crabs): 1 Red Mark (each)


Gnaw's Favors = Highest Tier
Desc: These are only used to buy one item, That item can be used to complete The Gorge.


Ancient Key: 3 Gnaw's Favors



Salt = Optional Tier
Desc: If you buy a salt rack from Billy (child goat located by the rock biome) and put it in a salt river, Wait for a while and you will obtained some Salt! Go to the Crushing Rock thingomabob and turn it into Salt Sprinkler things which you buy the only buyable item with salt with.


Key: 3 Salt Sprinklers (Three are made with 1 Salt Lump)
Desc: Keys are used to open the safes in the rock biome, Buy holding it with the mouse and clicking on the safe with the key will open the safe.

Syrup Pot (I think thats the name) (used for making Syrup on the cookpot station, It counts as a cookpot)

Tree Tapping Item (when put on a tree in the special pink garden opened with the Iron Key you can wait a small wait and get some Sap)

'Portal' Biome
Desc: The biome where you spawn in on your journey.

Contents Wildlife Wise:

Beefalo (I'd say around 4 or 5)

Bunny Rabbits (I'd say around 6 or 7)

Berry Bushes: Hosts 1 berries to collect

Contents Useable Wise:

Empty Farmplots (3): Used for planting seeds you can buy

Empty Fire Pits (4): Used for building the Cooking Stations on to

Cobblestone Pathways: When walked on you move faster around the area (only on the path)


Contents Store Wise:

Mumsy: Sells very important items for your journey such as Sml Cooking Station Kits and Goat Milk

Sammy: Sells lot's of Seed Packs and an Iron Key (used to open the pink forest-ish area)




Rock Biome
Desc: The home of many 'Victorians', Also seems to be the home of Mumsy and Billy!

Contents Wildlife Wise:

Rock Crabs: (I'd say around 10 or 12)

Salt Ponds: Used for catching fish or if salt rack placed on used for gaining salt

Structures: Just decoration :)

Ruined and Broken Stuff: Just decoration :)


Contents Store Wise:

Billy: Sells many items to assist getting food items


Forest + Village Biome
Desc: The home of the pig village

Contents Wildlife Wise:

Trees: Lots and lots and lots.... of trees

Rotten Saplings (I think they're called that): Like the berry bush for mushrooms, The spawner for mushrooms


Contents NPC + Store Wise:

Pigs: Just NPCs that walk around and talk, nothing important

Elder Pig: Sells important tools for wood, Also sells the keys for safe
