I liked this game but saw no achievement guide and although the tips and trick guide is great, its not focused enough for us achievement hunters, so here we go!

Introduction
Welcome Achievement Hunters!

This guide is a compilation of tips and organized play to help you complete this game at 90+% Achievements.

There are most likely a few broken achievements, achievement hunters beware!

Get ready for a lot of grind but thankfully, there are NO difficulty achievements although technically, you could unlock everything faster in Hard mode but well, dont try that in your first couple of runs, you will be playing the game again and again and again and again so you might as well enjoy it the first ten or dozen of times in easy mode unlocking the easy stuff.

For more info on game mechanics along with some excellent tips, go here:
https://steamproxy-script.pipiskins.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=652822777

I also did most of my unlocking on Easy mode, Normal and Hard were just too stressful to me.
But hey! If that's your thing, its a very good challenge to beat a normal or hard run.

These two webpages will be your bible and guardian angels as unlocking all the stuff is one of the most grindy things in the game:
https://overfall.gamepedia.com/Unlocks
https://overfall.gamepedia.com/Personas

Go ahead and show them your love if you can, they did a good job!

I created a google drive spreadsheet based on the wiki to keep track of my own unlocks, feel free to check it out and duplicate it for your own use, you can find the link at the end of the guide!

One last thing:
Trinkets/Weapon Achievements update/unlock AFTER you start a new game.

Alright, let's get started!

Edit: Thanks for the awards! :)
Upgrade Achievements
The easiest achievements, just find the right place and you are golden.

Shiny!
Upgrade a weapon part.

You can ask a merchant about a bazaar and go there to upgrade your weapon.

The Perfect Pupil
Upgrade a utility skill.

This one is easy once you start a guild quest and find the required guild ship which should spawn close to your location, you will require 5 dust to train a skill so be sure to have that by trading for dust with merchants.

Challenge Achievements
These ones force you to avoid or do a specific in your run regardless of difficulty, with some you just need to complete them BEFORE beating the game, the others you need to beat the game with the condition enabled before the achievement unlocks.

You could technically do a bunch of these in one single run if you plan them right.

This Is Only the Beginning
Beat the game.

Things you need to avoid before beating the game:

No Time to Get Better
Beat the game without upgrading your utility or weapon skills.

I'm On a Diet
Beat the game without buying food from bazaars, inns or trade-boats.

I Personally Like It Sober
Beat the game without using Dust's speed boost.

Run Forest Run!
Beat the game without using a mobility skill.

I really suggest you do all of these in your first successful run since you dont have to beat the Everking to beat the game, you just need to reach the Citadel, might as well reach the Citadel without companions (leave them at the Inn before going) for that achievo too.

Things to achieve in a single playthrough:

Quite a Traveler
Visit every single inn on the map.

Im not sure how this one gets triggered but I didnt visit every single one, I did visit more than 8 though.

Pilgrimage
Visit every single island on the map.

Diversity In The Workplace
Recruit 10 companions in a single playthrough.

You can either kill them off or dump them at a local Inn.

High On Dust
Bank 100 dusts in a single playthrough.

Be careful with this one, it gets bugged if you buy dust, I had over 100 dust when I beat the game and it got stuck around 84, maybe because I bought over 100 from a merchant, I finally got it when I got exactly 100 from plain questing, I did buy Dust from Merchants until I had around 90.

Noone Can Stop Death
Resurrect an ally at Altar 7 times in a single playthrough.

Its annoying but easily doable, grab someone squishy for faster deaths.

At Least I Have Chicken
Reach the Citadel without a companion.

Best done in your first run.

There Is a Toll In the Hallway
Destroy the first 3 Vorn ships that just came out from the portal.

Just camp near the portal as soon as you start the game, with a decent two-man team you can take em.

Things you need to do during battle

Last Man Standing
Win a battle with the last surviving party member and 1 HP.

You need to time this one and hope you dont miss that final hit, its easier to pull off during the first battle of the run. Simply whittle down the enemy to the final almost dead enemy, let him beat you up until one of you have 1 HP left and kill the other hero, if you fail, well, start over. :3

Absorb works wonders for this, as you can cast it on the almost dead ally while you finish it up.

Ambitious Slayer
Hit a critical strike while applied with Blind and Chilled.

Fighting the Forsaken is your best bet for this, Reavers apply both blind and chilled.
Elven Vindicators do chilled while Trancers do blind.
Vorn Huskarls and Drengs do chill while Thralls sometimes do Blind.
Undead Slithers often do blind and Stalkers afflict it too while Desolator have Chilled attacks.

Caught In The Middle
Die with Retaliation or Bone Pore's damage.

This also works if one your companions or battle temporary allies dies with it.
The Everguard loves to use Retaliation.
Faction Achievements
Meeting Faction Leaders

"Remember Who You Are"
Meet the Hollow Alpha as an ally.

The Hidden Beauty
Meet the Elf Queen as an ally.

For the Warchief!
Meet the Orc Warchief as an ally.

Beards are NOT Overrated
Meet the Dwarf Tradelord as an ally.

Winter is Coming
Meet the Forsaken Redeemer as an ally.

"Think Only of What Follows."
Meet the Goblin Freeman as an ally.

Ambassador of Dys
Become Exalted with all races.

Just do a bunch of missions for the faction you want, you can hover over a non-homeland island and its always human/faction, if you are aiming for a specific one, aim for those islands that harbor them, once they warm up to you, do missions in their homeland until you trigger the beacon quest.

I also suggest warning the faction you want about the evil.

Just remember that once you ally with a faction, their enemy will go hostile on you.

You need to become exalted, not just meet their leader or get to Honored, Exalted is when you finish the faction's special missions after using their beacon.

You dont have to do the ambassador one in a single playthrough, just unlock the others and this one will unlock when you are done.
Recruiting Achievements
These ones require you to meet and unlock certain companions and then recruit them in a future run into the same party.

Two Queens, All In
Recruit Pyromancer and Ice Maiden to the same party.

To recruit the Ice Maiden, I tried with the Alchemist companion and failed, I got her with the Wizard class.

It's Hammertime!
Maintain a party with 3 greathammer wielders.

Warlord, Kirinborn, Paragon, Outlaw might work too.
Boss Achievements (Spoilers)

Kingslayer
Kill the Vorn King.

Kingfarmer
Kill the Vorn King 10 times.

I Like the Way You Die Boy
Kill the Vorn King with Hidden buff on you.

You can fight the Vorn King in two places:
One is in the Hall of Awakening but here you have to fight him twice.
In his Vorn Ship when he spawns after Day 160, but he is escorted by several Jarl ships.

Its not enough with the Sneaky persona, you need a class that can go into sneak mode in the Utility Phase and then grab the kill. For example the Knife Juggler, Rogue, Druid or Alchemist.
The Wizard has a Mass Invis spell which is awesome for this.

I personally think he is easier on the Vorn Ship, since he aint burning up there.

You Shall Pass
Meet Ezel.

Reach the citadel and meet the Everking for the first time.

Freedom!
Kill the Everking with your last surviving party member.

Its easier than it sounds, just leave your strongest member alive before the final blow.
This does not count if he dies from Damage over Time effects.
Best done in easy, you must be able to fight the Everking, obviously.
Dont worry, what you see is what you get.

Unlock Achievements
Check this awesome wiki page for more info
https://overfall.gamepedia.com/Unlocks

If you finish the game, something you have locked, will unlock.
1 unlock for easy, 2 for normal and 3 for hard.

I think classes unlock first, and then something you havent unlocked for one of the classes you beat the run with.

Just remember than when trying to unlock things, do use the yellow dialogues and specifically, companion dialogues if you can, this does not always work but most of the time.

Even if you surrender, you keep all your previous unlocks.

For traits, each class has its own traits but companions come with their own trait too, so you could recruit a companion you need a trait for to recruit another!

If your companion gets a Persona, you can use it to unlock Class stuff!
So, only one member of your party needs the Persona for you to fulfill the requirement.

You can also leave a companion at an Inn and recruit another pretty quickly but it costs a rune.

You can reset your personas at the Inn for a rune, that will enable you to try again with those personas which are picked at random (like fear vs hatred)

Some unlocking achievements wont pop up until you start a new run.

I put a link to a spreadsheet I used to keep track of what I had, feel free to check it out at the end of the guide.

BBQ Time!
Unlock all classes.

Wanna See My Stamp Collection?
Unlock all neutral trinkets.

Adventuring Just Became Too Mainstream
Unlock all companions.

Crazy for Relics
Unlock all class trinkets.

Keeper of the Armory
Unlock all weapons.

Learning Never Exhausts the Mind
Unlock all utility skills.

Full House
Unlock everything.

Personality Disorder
Acquire every persona in the game.

Do keep track of which Personas you unlock with the Checklist, I've been stuck on 107 out of 108 and I have no idea which persona Im missing because I didnt bother to use the checklist until recently.
Grind Achievements
Most of these can be done over multiple runs.

Event Achievements

High Warlord of Dys
Win 1000 battles.

Unending Adventure
Take 1000 quests.

Those two you will eventually unlock as you try the others, dont worry about them.

This Is Only the Halfway
Beat the game with every class.

I suggest you keep track of the ones you've already done, the game wont.

Life Is Boring Anyway
Play with every possible hero combination.

I also have a tab to keep track of this in the checklist.
You dont need to beat the game with them or anything, you can just surrender right after you start.

Item collecting

Runic Enthusiasm
Collect 1000 runes.

I suggest you spend all your dust, food and fragments on buying runes before going into the Citadel.,

Weight Gain 4000
Spend 4000 foods.

I suggest you use all the food you can, even if it heals just 1HP, of course, that is, if you are rich like me :3

Killing Achievements

Officer Streak
Kill 20 Jarls.

Jarls are special Vorns that spawn once they take a foothold in the world.

Respect My Authority!
Kill 700 Everguards.

I checked in the rebellion fight and 5 Everguards were defeated, my counter went up by 5 after a couple of minutes, so either you, companions or temporary companions, if they die, it counts.

I See Dead People
Kill 500 Undeads.

They See Me Trollin'
Kill all 6 troll types.

Each biome has one type of Troll, the trick is getting the right quests for them.
You will get this as you hunt for all the other enemies around, dont bother seriously looking for them unless its one of the last achievements you need.

It Requires Finesse
Kill all enemy classes. (except Vorn King and Everking)

Check the Enemies tab in my spreadsheet which you can find at the end of the guide.
Although I've killed everything in the checklist I made this hasnt unlocked, so Im not sure what I am missing, if you figure it out, let me know.
My tips and tricks
Homeland Islands are those which one contain ONE faction, they are never shared.

Each homeland has an Altar nearby.

Your main characters have a golden border, your battle allies and companions have a grey border and your enemies have a red border on their portraits.

Its usually a bad idea to huddle up, a lot of enemies have nasty AOEs, try to spread out.

Golden/Yellow special choices are not always the best, THINK about what you are gonna say before making the click.

Winning 5 battles in the Arena gives you the Arena Champion Persona which makes you immune to Fear, Mortal Wounds and Weakness, the fights might also help get some immunities, you could also get this persona bonus by defeating 4 enemies with a single character in a single battle.

Do wait for your party to be complete before completing faction blessing quests, since their blessings only apply to the characters you have on your party at that moment.

Keep track of your enemies DOT (Damage over Time) effects like burning and bleeding and check the battle order, your attack might be better served elsewhere to leave that dude to die on its turn on its own also learn about your enemies, some can cure those effects on their allies.

Halls of awakening, look at the glowing spheres/balls in the center, they are four of them leading towards the entrance, figure it out boi :3

Grave number 2 is golden.

Resting at an Inn is an expensive way to heal all your wounds but you get the Well Rested Persona which increases all healing by 50% and +3HP for 15 days.

Stay around the islands around the starting gate until you grab 6 to 10 runes from Vorn ships or razed islands, islands have fewer enemies.

Dont panic if being chased by a Vorn, you might accidentally graze a razed island and will have to fight the Undead there, then when you get out, the Vorn can boost again with Dust to reach you... its bad all around.

Visiting homeland islands count towards the island visit to unlock "climate/flora/terrain" personas.

You can actually push the doomsday meter back if you kill Vorn ships and liberate razed island but.. it gets boring and they eventually progress anyway, Its best to ignore them if you have enough runes.

Defeating the Vorn King's ship resets the doomsday meter back to a few days before the 4th mark.

If you focus your attacks on the Everking, all the other enemies die with him.

Do not underestimate blindness or weakness.
Reduction is love.
Absorption is like a hug.
Life steal is great.
Taunt then Hidden is fun.
Hidden, Fury and Might is better.

Attack or utility skills that are marked personal do not end Hidden status.

Taunt is great against enemies that usually AOE your starting position, I love the Justicar.

Enemies that apply Dazed statuses:
Huskarls from the Vorn, Undead Stalkers, Bandit Axemans, Pirate Watchdogs.

There are a lot of great teams that have synergies, for example the bloodseeker with the berserker, check out the skills tab in my checklist so you can discover your own, part of the fun is figuring out what works.

Once you make a friendship with a faction, dont choose food, its a bad deal.'

Its a good idea to finish off any faction ships you see damaged, regardless of the reputation loss as to unlock companions faster, you can just hit their enemies ship to make things even.

The neutral trinkets: Doll of Dexterity and Scroll of the Beast are great boosts to your companions defense stats, they are amazing coupled with defensive-focus companions like the Justicar.

Faction Blessings for Stopping the Evils
Tunnel Vision - +5% Crit
Defender - +2 Defense
Thick Skin - +3 HP
Accuracy - +2 Accuracy
Agility - +1 Speed
Focus - +1 Ranged Weapon Skill Range
Ruin - No clue, let me know if you know

Events that fully heal your party (For hardmode)
Healing potion in the archaeologist note's event.
Full heal after training exercise in the Everguard rebellion.
Meeting the Witch and experimenting with the Herb.
Before each battle at the Halls of Awakening and at the end of it.
Sedation for Dust

Checklist Link
Copied over the tables from the good wiki, added a column for my checks and I have all the info in a single tab! Convenient.

Here you go:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GfJTZFfw679gSBhlI7iRGg9MOOS0IAAdCCgrpKOCINo

looks like my googlesheet has been flagged, Im done with the game anyway
Outro
Well, I still havent 100% this game but I wanted to put this guide out there for fellow achievement hunters and to ask for help on a couple of them too. This is a nice game although the Grind is insane and the Normal and Hard modes are very challenging!

Still, I had fun trying to come up with party builds and trying to unlock everything for my two classes in a single run.

Well, if you have any questions, do leave a comment and I'll try to answer them if I can, if I dont reply this is probably past 2020 and I forgot everything about the game -.- but maybe someone else can help!

You can also discuss your best party compositions in the comments, it will help others, Im sure!

Anyway, leave a rate up if this guide or my checklist helped and a thank you is always appreciated!

Safe travels, hunters! Have fun!
