How to Bandit proof a cabin
Heya folks

You had enough of those silent bandits attacking your base?....... tired of having your door bust in?..... fed up of having to move a water tank across your door?...... if you answered yes to any of these then just follow these easy steps :)

Step 1

at the top of the stairs or front of the deck outside your door place stock fences all the way across like in the pics below..

you can now shoot the bandits from the safety of behind your fence like in pics.

When leaving or returning to your cabin just place cursor on top of fence and press jump and you will do a gate vault like in pic below.

Step 2

Enjoy your game safe in the knowledge the bandits can't get in and kill you or steal all your lovely loot.

How to Bandit proof the Whitehouse (basics)
I do not use the whitehouse myself so i can only show principal as i didn't have the resources to build the fences to show fully how it works :) As many of you do use the whitehouse i just thought i would show the easiest way to protect the house from bandits getting inside... doing this however stops the NPC'S you rescue from also being able to get inside, so it's only if you don't mind that or use a different cabin for the NPC'S.

Step 1

Place a line of stock fences across the front porch like in pic (takes 3 fences)

Step 2

Place a stock fence in the window of every window that has boards on it like in pic the none boarded windows don't need doing, it can be a bit awkward to get them in the right place but its worth it :)

there all done :) have fun :)

excellent pro tips! Ive always loved survival / survival horror games & this 1 I just couldnt get very far in. excellent game but mostly screwed around in it til i inevitably died & never took the time to look up guides. i remember the 1st time i got raided & jumped out of bed in the white house upstairs, feeling like a home invasion, crouched behind the bed with a shotgun pointed at the door. man those bastards can take some hits >.< anyway this is great info for securing structures, def going to give it a shot so thank you for posting!

Oh, okay. Thanks for clarifying

@ spy149 No you still lose stuff when you revive or commit suicide (get robbed) you lose a percentage of your carried loot, if you need to commit suicide in game, make sure you drop everything first or if you can put it in storage before suiciding to avoid losing loot.

The dev was having trouble with AI pathfinding and players complaining of getting killed during bandit raids so he just removed the raiding part and the patrols of bandits that used to be around the map :)

Um, I see you said bandit raids were removed, but does that mean when reviving, your camp won't be robbed? I just recently got the game so I never expierenced a raid before
Maconijnr  [author] 22 Sep, 2020 @ 3:09am
@ j.bonaiuto The bandit raids was removed from the game, bandits only exist in camps now so they are no longer a threat to your base for the meantime, subject to development change lol

The fences in the windows is not to stop the infected from breaking the boards, what it does is stop the infected from being able to climb through the windows and get in :)

Yes the infected can break lockers and stuff so don't use things like those in front of windows or too near the windows or they can destroy it trying to break in :)
j.bonaiuto 21 Sep, 2020 @ 2:50pm
I don't have a problem with bandits yet, but the infected continually are breaking thru the fixed windows, even with the fence like you are showing.
So I put a 'V' of the fence in front of all FIXED windows and that seems to have stopped them...also I limit what I put on the floor in front of any fixed window, no chests or lockers. For some reason that seemed to attract them????

@ trouble ermm well you must be a new player lol :D bandits used to attack your base, they also used to patrol around the game map meaning you randomly bumped into them :) The bandit attacks and patrols was removed in version 0.1.8. I leave the guide up because it not only protects from the infected, the bandit attacks will be restored to the game at a later time :)

Bandits don't attack houses
