Intro
Party composition, useful trinkets, main strategies, Farmstead rules, and what to do if things go bad. This guide has everything you need to reach the 300 kills or more without serious problems.
Farmstead rules
This particular area works in waves, you will fight a randomly generated waves of enemies from any area of the game (except the Courtyard) with a randomly selected light color, the only fixed enemies will be The Miller and The Comet, wich will be your first and second boss fight, after that even bosses are randomly selected from a pool.

Because of the wave mechanic, all battle long buffs will last until you end said wave, so a bonus that last four battles will remain active for four full waves (or three waves and a boss fight). Also remember than limited uses skills will replenish their charges only after a boss fight, so save those for boss fights only.

If any of your heroes dies, dont worry, you wont lose them, they will banish for a few week in the same manner as when one hero of your roster gets an ?, you will lose the trinkets.

There are five light colors, each with buffs for both your heroes and the enemies

Buying provisions
Buy as much food and healing items as possible, dont forget Medicinal Herbs, Laudanum and Keys (as they can be used in cabinets to obtain more provisions).

Dont bring Torches (as the light works different in the Farmstead), Shovels (as there are no obstacles), The Blood (as you wont bring cursed heroes), Holy water and Aegis Scales (as their buffs are not worthy the space they take).

Under no circumstance bring Shard Dust, the posibility to replenish limited skills uses might sound great but the debuffs are quest long and worsen after each use, remember you are going for the very long run.
Main strategy
First we have to make a distinction between enemy waves and boss fights.

For enemy waves you will open the round with a Battle Ballad, Retribution, Impale and a Dazzling light, this way you will be buffed, riposting weakened enemies and have one of them stunned (with some luck). After that buff yourself with the Man-at-Arms and try to keep buffs and riposte always active, break the pattern only if there is no other choise or you got the oportunity to kill an anoying enemy with the wrong hero. This way you wont have problems in most circumstances unless RGN really hates you. When you get a Splendorous light, use your Jester mainly for Stress Healing and Buffing, dont waste this light color to attack with said hero.

Remember that limited uses skills only replenish their charges after a boss fight.

For boss fights you have to change a few skills. Open the battle with both Jester and Man-at-Arms buffs (Bolster is battle long). Dont use Impale with the Shieldbreaker, keep on attacking with Pierce, and use Serpent Sway only if you are at death´s door and you allready used your Vestal´s action. Keep riposte active and Battle Ballad´s buff always up, if you can, stack the later for a better chance to crti with riposte and Pierce.

Also is very important that all your heroes dont have the Crimsom Curse, as The Blood will take space in your inventory and you will need it frecuently, also there is no way of getting more of that item in the Farmstead, so your heroes will end up dying.

Its most convenient to select Reflection Obscura as your endgame condition, as stress will be a bigger problem in the long run than healing, also remember you have the Man-at-Arms guard if you get in troubles.

These are the desired quirks you should have (more or less in this order of priority):
  • Unyielding: +10% Death Blow Resist
  • Luminous: +2 SPD, +5 DODGE
  • Any Thing from the stars unique quirk
  • Corvid's Resilience: +33% Disease Resist
  • Robust: +15% Disease Resist
  • Evasive: +5 DODGE
  • Daredevil: +15 DODGE if HP below 25%
  • Musical: Inspiring Tune: +25% Stress Heal Received
  • Any +Crit melee/ranged skills
  • Tough: +10% MAX HP
  • Photomania: -20% Stress if Torch above 75
  • Steady: -10% Stress

You should also have built the districts of the heroes you are going to bring to the Farmstead, their bonuses are goint to be most usefull.

NOTE: Only easy to replace trinkets have been suggested for this guide, if you are an experienced player, dont be afraid to use any ancestral CC or CoM trinkets.
Camping
After each wave, The Sleepers Herald will send you to a room, here you might find one of the following curios

  • Fresh Harvest: Restores 95% of one party member's health (restores less, if debuffs to restored health are applied).
  • Plentiful Bounty: Restores 60% of each party member's maximum health.
  • Rotted Fare: Reduces a single party member's stress by 100.
  • Corrupted Harvest: Reduces the entire party's stress by 60.
  • Gleaming Shards: Contains Comet Shards.
  • Stockpile: Contains random provision items. Using a Skeleton Key will increase the available loot and add a random Trinket.
  • Miller's Hearth: Enables the party to set up camp without using up any stored Firewood.
  • Mildred: Gives a random Trinket (or Mildred's Locket) or Comet Shards.

If you happen to find a Miller´s Hearth its time for camping. If you completed all of the Shieldbreaker´s nightmares she will gain a +10% DMG and +10% PROT bonus for two battles. Don´t use a "prevent nightmare ambush" skill as you can´t be ambushed in the Farmstead, instead buff your whole party with the Man-at-Arms skills and reduce stress with your Jester if needed.
Shieldbreaker
This will be your main damage dealer, it has armor piercing, AoE blight attack, Guard breaking, pulling and a bit of damage negation. Be sure to always have her in first or second rank, to make use of Impale. Remeber than while Serpent Sway blocks damage from attacks, it doesnt negate status effects being aplied or DoT.

Man-at-Arms
This will be your tank, he will not only have the greatest HP pool of your party, but also the highest resistances and riposte. Have Riposte allways active and enemies will kill themselves, this will increase your progresion speed dramatically. You will also have a great deal of party buff in battle and while camping, remember than one battle is a full wave of enemies in the farmstead. For boss fights exchange Command for Bolster for a battle long buff

Jester
This will be your main support class, with the MUCH NEEDED stress healing, a good party buff, average bleed to the middle rows and a guard ignoring attack. This adventurer camp skills are great for stress reduction and stress resistance. For boss fights exchange Harvest for Finale as bosses have high bleed resistance and also Finale can only be used once and takes a big toll on the Jester

Vestal
Your main and only healer, what this adventurer lacks in offensive capabilities is vastly compensated by party wide healing. Keep this adventurer in fouth place all the time, so it wont disrupt other heroes necesary position and will be able to use its own skills. Jester´s Dirk Stab and some Shieldbreaker´s skills can be used to this purpouse without wasting a turn to move an adventurer.

Highwayman
Replacing the Shieldbreaker, the Highwayman is a good source of damage, a second riposte, bleeds and camp stress healing. You should focus on melee, allways keeping riposte active with a mixture of Point Blank Shot and Duelist Advance, but keep Pistol Shot for back rows (specially against the first half of the comet fight)

Grave Robber
Replacing the Man-at-Arms, this hero will be your source of armor piercing, blight, 4th row damage, camping stress healing and most important disease curing. Blight one enemy, then do a combo with Shadow Fade and Lunge for maximum damage. She can also work well with the Shieldbreaker Impale for a blight damage bonus synergy.

You´re welcome. And regarding Photomania, I honestly forgot it.
Red Berin 13 Apr, 2024 @ 11:07pm
Thank you so much for this guide! I was struggling with the Farmstead, and I can finally say I got 300 kills.
I ended up switching out the Shieldbreaker for the Highwayman. The double riposte and crit damage I was getting from the Highwayman and the Man-At-Arms racked up the kills.
Your trinket suggestions are great.

Glad you found it usefull

It took me about 5 hours to get through this achievement with a Vestal, Jester, Highwayman, and Shieldbreaker. The key advice was very helpful.
Stamy 26 Feb, 2020 @ 12:55pm
I'll try these comps, not too different from what I was recommended; I have been attempting this with the a Vestal, a Jester and either two Shieldbreakers or two Lepers. Got pretty close to 300 with either, but I need more versatility as some bosses can stop my runs by just showing up.
Uncle Fester  [author] 7 Jan, 2020 @ 10:48am
Glad you got the achievement
Random 7 Jan, 2020 @ 9:48am
Couldn't do it with Shieldbreaker after like 5 tries. After changing her for Highwayman however i got to 300 on the first try, goddamn those riposte crits are overpowered. Prot enemies really give this comp trouble tho (Vestal - Jester - Man at Arms - Highwayman), especially if they guard a high priority target.

Worked like a charm, thanks for the guide!

For normal dungeons he is, but for this kind of run, no way
