Alright, First join your DarkRP server. Any server. I usually like joining Semi-Empty servers, such as ones that have around 10-15 people, so once you make your base, you won't get raided off the bat!

Okay, You'll start out on the Citizen Job. You'll probably get an MOTD. Make sure to read it, so you wont break any rules. I'll summarize what some of the stuff means in the next section.

Okay, in order to choose another Role/Job, Press F4. If you're on a laptop, and it controls the "Go Back" Video button, press FN, it's next to the windows key, and hold FN. Then proceed to press Esc.

When you press F1, it shows you some commands. In order to use these commands, press the text chat button (y).

Okay, first find a worthy build\ing to call home. I usually use this area.


Let's use that building as our template for now. First, what you want to do is put a building sign down. First, Press Q to go to the menu, to the right there is a section called "Tools". If you are not on Tools already, click on it. Then, procceed to look for a blue thing called "Construction". For me, right under it is where textscreen is. Type in building on one of the typing rectangles. I usually keep the size for it at 50. Once you've got that, Press F2 on the door.
What you want to do after that, is to open the door, (e) and go to keys. Left Click will lock your door, and Right Click will unlock your door. on the F4 Menu, there's another section. One of those sections have Money Printers. They also cost money, so I advise depending on the type, to get one of them. But, once you've got a printer, you can't go back! If you still have the building sign, you most likely have to get rid of it.

Okay, you probably didn't get half of the stuff on MOTD. This summarizes what you probably didn't get.

First, RDM. RDM is the abbreviation of Random Death Match. What it means, is that you can't go off and killing random people. I use to do this on servers I hated, and trust me, people get butthurt, and if you do it to a godded admin, lord help you.

NLR. New Life Rule. It's when you die, such as if you're raided, you can't come back for a certain amount of time, because it's unfair that way to the raiders. You can't just go and when you die, come back and come back. It's also unfair for the defending people during the raid, too. They can't hold out.

Gun Dealer - The Gun Dealer's Role is to sell guns. Guns can go to different prices, and some servers have made it so one type sells Pistols and SMG's and another sells Snipers, Rifles, and Shotguns. If you want to make money, I usually add $250 to the price, or $500 to the price, so it's still a good deal. Sometimes, the Mayor has to give you a Gun License so you can sell guns.

Citizen - The Citizen is a job where you just live life normally. A Citizen can't raid, or mug. The Citizen may however if he/she has a Gun License, he/she can own a gun and can defend against Theives mugging/raiding him/her.

Civil Protection - The Civil Protection are the Law Enforcement. They can conduct raids on a person if that person has drugs or printers. Their main role is to patrol the streets and arrest criminals.

Thief - The Thief is a criminal. The Thief can Mug people of a certain amount of money, or raid people. The Thief can raid with their lockpick, or they advert mug on someone. Their Nemisis is the Civil Protection.

Hobo - The Hobo is a job where you beg for money. On a bunch of servers, they're allowed to micspam. The Hobo job is unique because they're allowed to build on the streets, when other jobs are not allowed to.

Mayor - The Mayor gives out Gun Licenses, Sets up laws and Law Boards, and is the leader of Law Enforcement. If the Mayor Dies, they're kicked out of their job, and spawn in as a Citizen again. Another User can take the job.
